I've been watching the African Cup of Nations on and off over the last few weeks.

I think there is one player who would really suit us and equally important the premiership.

He:

  • is a winger
  • is fast as f***
  • can play left or right side
  • can cross the ball
  • has a shot like a rocket
  • SCORES GOALS
  • is built like a brick shtihouse
  • never gives in
  • he's a nasty fcucker

No he isn't Roy of the Rovers ...

His name is Kader Keita, he plays for the Ivory Coast and Lyon (££££ :( )

Anyone else like him?

He only moved to Lyon in the summer. They paid a fair whack for him as well.

They only miss a month of games every couple of years, but I'd still be reluctant to sign an African player because of it.

Think that will inevitably change though and the tournament will move to be in line with the rest of world football.

He's been bloody terrible for Lyon. Hasn't scored yet, and been so bad he's not played very much.

Fine, he'll be cheap then :)

To be frank, I'd never heard of him before this tournament.

From what I've seen he has all the attributes a premiership player needs.

He looks to be a leader, unlike soo many of the lily livered followers in our team, who lose their confidence at the drop of a hat and then go missing :(

Saw him for Lyon at the start of the season, my only though was why the f*** have they signed him

A bit rich questioning Lyon, considering their record in the transfer market viz .. Essien, Juninho, Diarra, Fred, Wiltord, Malouda ..

Cant agree with your logic. It's maybe 6 max games out of 120 played over two seasons, countered with (currently) having three summers out of four complete rest as opposed to every other one. Standing off some of the world's great current and future players really isn't an option.

South America currently produces the most quality footballers, but I can see Africa over-taking Europe as number two over the next decade. The combination of socio-economic conditions (the best footballers tend to come from poorer backgrounds) and investment in the infrastructure of the game and youth development on the continent is currently and will increasingly bring through a huge number of quality footballers.

Sadly he isn't like that at all. He goes missing.
