alias75 Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 The SPL have allowed Rangers to postpone their game on the weekend to give them their best chance to qualify in the CL, is there any chance the PL would do the same for us, and would we prefer to play Reading on Saturday anyway so we dont fall too many games behind the other teams?
Andy Mac Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 (edited) The SPL have allowed Rangers to postpone their game on the weekend to give them their best chance to qualify in the CL, is there any chance the PL would do the same for us, and would we prefer to play Reading on Saturday anyway so we dont fall too many games behind the other teams? Really, I was under the impression that a UEFA law prevents this from happening. Interesting if true. Precedent !! Edited December 4, 2007 by Sammy Lee's body double
RafaShanks Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Rangers are s**** though. Seriously, we haven't exactly got a tough run up to the Marseille game. Afterwards it gets a bit hectic.

Celtic are in the same situation this week. How come their game wasn't postponed last weekend?
alias75 Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Celtic are in the same situation this week. How come their game wasn't postponed last weekend? Not sure maybe because there were 2 games left at that point and so that game didnt decide the group. Heres the story.. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/...p;TEAMHD=soccer
lfc4eva99 Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 its ridiculous imo, Lyon have a weekend off as well.....
Rimbeux Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I think Italy allow this as well, postponing or moving games at late notice to help teams in Europe
Benitez Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 fec that! I'd be well pissed off if they postponed our game for that reason Might do more harm than good anyway, having 10 days between games.
Bologna Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I think Italy allow this as well, postponing or moving games at late notice to help teams in EuropeThey do indeed allow this. Not sure allow is the correct word though. Surely UEFA allow it and the national associations are just following the rules.
Cunny Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 the last thing we need is to be another game in hand behind and be 12 points behind Arsenal.
Hassony Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 the last thing we need is to be another game in hand behind and be 12 points behind Arsenal. exactly, especially with our current form by the way, am I right in thinking that other team had to agree to postpone the match before the scottish FA gave the go ahead
Rimbeux Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 exactly, especially with our current form by the way, am I right in thinking that other team had to agree to postpone the match before the scottish FA gave the go ahead Maybe it's something written into PL rules, but is in the power of national FAs elsewhere.
