Seen one of the most horrible sights of my life on sat night.

I got taken to hospital due to a pretty bad asthma attack and while waiting to be treated I was looking around the ward at the people around me.

One lady there was about 60... well thats what i thought when i looked at her, she told the nurse her age was 42. Anyway, she had a broken arm, two black eyes, a nose that was completly broken, in a number of places by what i could see and a number of cuts and stiches all over her face. For a satdee night casualty was quite quiet and I could hear her husband talkin to her. "Just say you fell down the stairs, i wasn't there right? you hear me? if you say owt kathleen i swear i'll properly finish the job next time" I was ready to go mental. Thankfully one of the nurse's had heard him also, he was gargled so had no idea how loud he was speaking. about 10 mins later the cops walk in and it all kicked off the thing is she defended him to the hilt and eventually the cops had to do nothing, they sat with the lady for a bit andhad a chat to her, presumably to tell her her options in getting this prick arrested. anyway they left without arresting him and i got moved before i could see what happened. I got chattin to my doctor and he said that this thing happens all the time.

I don't know how to feel, i thankfully didn't grow up around domestic violence, so it was abit scary to see it first hand, the damage, her defending him. I ended up hating her as much as him for not putting a stop to it. I've been thinking about it ever since, she had other scars too so it was not the first time either. I don't now what to think now, should i pity her? Im thankful though I couldn't breathe because the anger that welled up in me Iwould have killed the f***er.

I just don't understand either of their part in it.
