Just watched the hightlights on MOTD and just noticed this.

 

Anyone else come up with an explanation why Murphy ducks for cover?

Hahaha. I saw that when it happened and said the exact same thing to my mate. It defo looked like he thought he was about to be slapped.

i thought murphy had jokingly accused gerrard of diving at first.

I didnt see where the ball went but his reaction was more along the lines of someone lining up to smash the ball, but as I said, I dont know where the ball went after Gerrard fell - if one of the Fulham players kicked it back and a pool player lined up to smash it back ?

looked like a defender whacked the ball away and Murphy was ducking to avoid being hit. Gerrard was a few yards away from him at the time, he slid after he was fouled
