Morten Andersen

I knew he was knocking on a bit, but I just noticed the other day that Morten Andersen who is an NFL kicker is almost 50 years old! He really has got to be one of the oldest sportsmen around and has been kicking at the top level in the NFL for 25 years now.

 

I know he doens't have to do any running around, but it's still incredible that he retains the ability to belt the ball that kind of distance to such a ripe old age. I don't think it's normal even for kickers to have careers that long.

 

He is of course Danish; as we've got a few resident Danes I was wondering is he a well known sportsman in Denmark? I'd imagine he'd be a bit of a legend even if the sport isn't followed as much in Europe as others.
