So there I was lying in bed last night looking for something to watch and I see soccer on Telefutura, LA Galaxy v Pachuca in the Superliga.

 

This comp is the brainchild of some nutter who wants to see US and Mexican teams square off against each other, probably in the hope of seeing horrendous tackles and fighting on the pitch. Both of which happened last night.

 

It's late and then I see some old guy on the field with white hair and a white beard. I was convinced I recognised him, and sure enough it was Papa Smurf, now plying his trade on the West coast of the USA for the LA Galaxy.

 

He is slower than ever now and was hopelessly exposed for the Pachuca goal. Maybe he was part of the Beckham deal?

 

FYI, LA won 2-1 in the end.

The funny thing was in the Chelsea v Galaxy game he kept Galaxy in the game and even the commentators said he was involved in everything. I think his appearance makes him look a worse player than he actually is.
