See this is the thing - we all see us dominating games and failing to score, which has been the most frustrating aspect of this season. But is that just down to missing easy chances? I'm not so sure.

It's not as simple as to say, 'we're not scoring enough, buy a striker and we'll score more'. Runaway leaders United's leading scorer is a winger, and their first choice front two of Rooney and Saha have probably scored a similar amount to Crouch and Kuyt combined. Our game against United is an excellant illustration of my point - everyone said we clearly dominated the game, but how many sitters did we miss? The simple answer is none, although we had quite a few decent chances.

This is what I was saying about bringing in more guile in the final third - Tevez and Ribery are players who are capable of creating easy chances for the other attacking players, rather than loads of half opportunities. They turn defenders, they get in behind defences, they carry the ball forward and have an eye for a killer pass. Crouch is a brilliant finisher with his feet, and I think in that formation with those players in support he could even become one of the best forwards around - he revelled in the role on Saturday.

I saw a real fluidity and cutting edge in our performance on Saturday - despite playing one up front we seemed to actually get more bodies in support of Crouch than when we go with two up top, because we had three midfielders allowed free reign to attack. Imagine that same set-up, but with Tevez in Gerrard's position just off the striker, and Gerrard and Ribery attacking on the right and left side of a three instead of Pennant and Gonzalez.

With Alves adding a huge amount pace and energy on the right, I just feel the overall mobility, athleticism and attacking intent of the side would be immense.
