I have to say I've always thought Barca as a club to be a bit arrogant, but I definitely have a new found affection for them to go with my admiration of their football following tonight, as their fans were magnificent, and anything but arrogant.

They established a great rapport with us in the Main Stand; at half time one of them got a flag out saying 'Mourinho you're just a f*cking translator' to some laughs from our lot, and when the steward went to kick him out we all booed, so he let him off and we cheered. There was loads of banter going across but all very friendly indeed.

They got behind their team fantastically well, bouncing and singing and twirling their scarves, respected YNWA at the start and were thoroughly magnanimous in defeat in a way of which we pride ourselves on being. They gave a rousing round of applause and a big cheer for our final belting out of YNWA at the end of the game, despite having just had to swallow the fact that their team had just been knocked out of Europe.

And they were still singing proudly when many people had left the stadium, as well as joining in some mutual appreciation singing 'Liverpool' in response to our 'Barca'.

Well done to the traveling Barca 'hooliganes', and bueno suerte for the rest of the season.

Dunno what happened to my original post there - wierd!

Anyway what I put in it was up until tonight I always thought Barca as a club to be a bit arrogant, but their fans were absolutely fantastic tonight. I have a new found appreciation for them now not only for their wonderful football but also their brilliant supporters.

We had some great banter with them at half time, some lad had a banner saying 'Mourinho you're just a f*ckin translator' which got a few laughs, and when the steward went to kick him out we all booed, so he let him stay and we cheered. There was loads of banter but all friendly stuff.

At the end depite the fact that they'd had to swallow getting knocked out of Europe they really showed their appreciation for us and gave the final YNWA a rousing round of applause and cheers. They got beind their team really well signing, bouncing and twirling their scarves throughout and even after they'd gone out, but it was how thoroughly magnanimous in defeat and respectful they were of us and the fantastic atmosphere we'd created that really struck me.

We even had some mutual singing of each other's names at the end, them responding to our chanting of Barca's name with some chanting of Liverpool in return.

They were great - I'm now very much a converted Barca 'Hooligan'. Bueno suerte to their excellent supporters for the rest of the season, they did their club proud tonight...:applause:

Great post.

Their fans were top class tonight, especially during YNWA.

The Barca fans were excellent tonight, both inside and outside the stadium.

That's what European football should be about.

Completely different to the arrogance in their stadium for the Camp Nou match.

They've claimed our ground is too small and not as good as theirs etc... well if you have OUR fans on a euro night with only 50% of their attendance why are they so crap at supporting their team at home?

On TV there were some brief clips of them during YNWA and it looked like they were singing along with it. Unless that was a huge section of the Liverpool fans who had come in Barcelona shirts for the night!

All the Spanish team's fans have 'quality fans' over here. Betis fans where the best though!

Barca are no different from the rest, they have some w*****s, and some horrible spitting idiots who gob at our captain, and they have some good fans. No big deal is it, hardly a reason to 'hail' them.

I can't stand any of the fecers :D

Did I read some months back that waving an imaginary card at the ref was going to be made a yellow card offence? Did that idea get ditched? They'd have ended up with 6 men last night if that rule had been introduced....
