an outsider reading this forum would be laughing his socks off

we dont know we are born

we support one of the greatest clubs on earth.....we are about to play Barcelona in the Champions League.....

Sure this season has had its poor moments, esp at the startr and the Arsenal game...but we have been going ok..2 league defeats since November

We dont concede at home, never mind lose in the league..we are almost unbeatable....

we have the best midfielder in the country, one of the worlds best keepers, a centre half who we all adore...one of the best passers in the world......and Bolo Zenden

2 seasons ago we won the Champions League in the greatest final ever....we won the FA Cup last term in the best FA Cup final ever....

Yet we still have the manager questioned.....

Do people not realise that you cant just throw a magic wand at it and expect the league to be won? We have been working within a budget which has meant we have fallen behind the top two......yest we still have glory.....glory the Mancs and the Chavs can only dream of....something they would give there right arm for....

we now have the financial muscle to compete, certainly with United....it could be anotehr two or three years before we challenge properly...I said on here at the start of this season that we may well not do as well as last season in the league as we went on a freaky run of results.

We have one of the top coaches in world football who now has the chance to compete at the top end of the transfer scale.........

Yet, I f***ing hate coming on here after we lose....sure I can understand people being dissappointed....f***ing hell.....I travelled back from Geordie land with Jon Hall next to me........

There is little perspective on here......its the same after every defeat....and i am getting sick of it......

there is no point in coming on here after defeats.....i just end up falling out with people, i know that I come across as a w***** at times, but I f***ing care.......really care.......

it is becoming tedious....and yes I know I am part of the problem

Fair play Anny, I agree with ya there... things are very down around here at the moment. I cant figure out why. I think its just the expectation and I really hope we all stop and think about this... We are still in the best club competition in the world and here we are moaning about the league... lets focus on the CL until we are out of that... then god help us we can moan to f***!

of course we'll win it and it'll be a brilliant season for the best team in the world with the best manager and best midfielders... awww i cant wait.

Spot on.

The amount of people who think we should be ahead of a team with unlimited money and another team with a squad far better than ours when Rafa first got here just because we are Liverpool is incredible, we've got to work our way back to the top and we're going in the right direction. We got a brilliant points tally last season, we wont get that again this season but it'll be in the 70-75 point mark imo which will mean 2 good consistent seasons yet people still whinge. It cant be done overnight especially when we're trying to overtake 2 teams and not one. Rafa has put the squad together, has us playing more consistent and even himself now acknowledges only top class players can improve what weve got, once we get them then we can make the next step and people have every right to have a moan if we dont progress again. Until then though they should shut the f*** up.

Kevin Moran? :D

You can shut up and all. Travelling all over to support the team, what's going on there? Here's some advice; stay at home; watch the game on TV (when your wife isn't making you do the shopping and that) and listen to what the commentators say, then you'll be "with the programme" Demand we win the league or you'll take your ball home and if our team don't perform like your CM team do, then you SHOULD whinge and moan and belly ache. Remember, football begins and ends with Sky TV and anyone who says it doesn't is a snidey, snotty-faced liar!!!

Billy Liddell? Kenny Dalglish? Bill Shankly? History? Heritage? Loyalty? Counts for nowt mate, we DEMAND the league and it's our devine right.

It was a poor result alright but after the Everton game 2nd was lost so 3rd or 4th is really all the same to me.

There really isn't any difference. Second would be brilliant as we'd have no CL qualifiers in the summer but

other than that I'm not too bothered to be honest.

It was exciting again a few weeks ago when second was within our grasp but thats over now so I'm going to chill till next season.

I feel no embarrassment to say that even at my advanced age (don't start, I'm still fitter than 95% of youse lot and will out-run, out-cycle and out-drink.....maybe not the last one, every last one of you) I still get a thrill of anticipation whenever the ticket for our next away drops through the letter box. I still find myslef looking at the table and mentally adding the 3-6-9 points for our next games and calculating where that places us. I hope I never lose that.

I think it's okay to question the manager, he's not infallible. The sort of over-the-top stupidity we get on here is hard to bear, however.

I think the club is in fantastic hands in terms of the football side and the finance side now so the rest of the season is about trying to win the CL for me and waiting til the real fun starts next season. I still want us to perform mind but i think there is a bigger picture.

Re the sticky at the top of the page, was it a message from all the owners and admin?

Can we get this straight. It's moron not feckin Moran.... :hmm:

I'd had enough of it when I was at school now I've had it on these forums twice in as many days!

Your name's not Moran by any chance? The spelling comes from a Septic's banner at something or other he felt compelled to moan about.

Sometimes more than others to be honest.

I was gutted over the cup defeats as we start those games on a level pegging and we have everything

to play for. Can't wait for the Barca games too.

Losing to Newcastle doesn't really change the fight for 3rd or 4th.

How'd you guess ;)

Got a pic of that banner?

Sorry, no, it was used to illustrate his stupidity when he had a banner reading "get a brain morans" Used it ever since TBH.

Some perfectly valid points, but in general here-in lies the problem with internet fourms. Say something positive and your a rose tinted, head-buried-in-sand fan. But say something negative (and not necessarily incorrect), and people question your love of the club, recognition/appreciation of our wonderful past.

For every argument theres a counter argument. But facts are fact - this is not a discussion about history, this is a discussion about now. Some people are annoyed, as yet again. we are miles away from winning the league and its early feb. In fact, we were out of it in November. We are 'almost unbeatable', but are 16 points behind Utd and have lost to Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, Blackburn, Bolton. We also went out of both cups at a an early stage, but it's the league that really concerns me.

Now I too can't wait for the CL ties with Barca - as you say, most clubs would give ther right arms to be in this position. I'm quietly confident and think we'll give them a right good go. But do I honestly think we'll win it this year, probably not, its a damn lottery.

Which brings us back down to earth and our fight for the top 4. The fact is, not matter how well we paint our recent run and we'd be top if it started in December etc., the fact is it didn't - we weren't good before then. Also, and this is the important point, the same can be said of last year. I.e, a good run now means nothing when we repeat the inconsistency over a season the next season.

Now, please please please don't take this as a call for Rafas head, or question my support, etc. etc. For what its worth I think we are getting there slowly, BUT it is very frustrating to watch the same inconsistencies rearing season after season, and quite frankly fans have every right to vent those frustrations when another defeat leaves us 16 points behind our big rivals.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, my frustrations don't mean for a minute I will be any less excited, nervous, full of support the next time we play.

good post

i disagree with the fundamentals though

the point is there is a bigger picture.....you cant just turn on a championship challenge....you have to build it...either the Chelsea way or in our case alot slower....People look at Arsene Wenger and his Championship win early in his tenure but he had the best back four in the league plus the best keeper when he joined....

We have had to work within financial constraints, and the fact that we had some s**** players when Rafa joined,......it takes time to build a squad to challenge for the title....look at United under ferguson.....he tookd three or four sides to actually get close....look at the players he bought before he got it right...

we have to have persepctive and if you have you wiull know that our team is not currently upto it....but if you have faith that the manager knows what he is doing and that we now have the funds to compete then you cant be full of doom and gloom......

I said on here in August that we would not challenge for the title this season and even next and I stand by that............

Absolutely. we're one of the top three teams in the country. How can you complain, when fans of lower division teams would give anything to be in our place.
