Pepe has a house in Cordoba

Why Cordoba...? What's there to do in Cordoba...? Would've thought his house in Spain was close to the Valencia/Barcelona area, or closer to his birthplace, which I think is Madrid....

 

Not that I've ever been to Cordoba though

yes Pepe was born in Madrid, cos his papa was with Atletico at the time! But the Reina family are from Cordoba, so that'll explain it!

And that is what marks him out from a lot of goalies. ALL goalies make mistakes, it's how they cope with them that often defines them.

The recent crack with goalies having a couple of bad performances, the media having a field day and the sheep in the street who've seen the ame with their own eyes suddenly labelling them 'dodgy' really annoys me.

 

Reina suffered from it last year and I still believe Jerzy was unfairly maligned, beyond all proportion.

 

We have two very good goalkeepers and I'd like to see the one who doesn't make mistakes over the course of a few seasons. Even Cech will have his 'blip'.

aye, it fecin annoys me as well. 2 or 3 things that overtakes all the good work a goalie does. Sure thats part of the deal with being a goalie, but the stick Pepe got was beyond a joke. Cech certainly had a couple bad mistakes last season as well, and Van Der Sar, all the best one will.

 

Then you get goalies like Shay Given that no fecer dare say a bad word against, who cost his team the quarter final of the league cup v Chelsea the other week, who are hailed as these great goalies just cos they make saves for the cameras once in a while. Bah humbug!
