Figaro Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Haven't seen one of these for a while So - serious question this - are there still people on here who think we'd be better without him?
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 I agree. His tinkering has gone way too far.
Benitez Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 There where people who thought we'd be better off without him? OK, when we lose a game, I can understand the instant reactions, but I can't believe even some of the biggest whingers on here would be that stupid.
Nerik Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 As the great Robbie Earle said when we lost against Arsenal "Well I have always been of the opinion that players score goals and not zones".
Grimes Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 I noticed a letter calling for Rafa to go was published in the Sunday Times Irish edition last week. No carefully constructed argument, just a couple of lines saying he's done no more than Houllier, Evans and Souness. Not sure if it was legit, it could have been a wind up by a rival fan or someone at the paper as I was surprised that it got printed. They only publish about 7-8 letters every week and this one was top of the section...........
Scally Bob Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 We've only won one game this year. Get rid now!
Guest Dirk Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Bascombe says that David Villa was in the directors box yesterday but he's not going to sign soon, anything mentioned in the Spanish press?
Benitez Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 El Moro was there the other day an all, I think they are all just coming over for a free holiday at Pepe's
Huyton_Red Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Bascombe says that David Villa was in the directors box yesterday but he's not going to sign soon, anything mentioned in the Spanish press? Link ? I didnt see that on icliverpool, where is it ?
Guest Dirk Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Link ? I didnt see that on icliverpool, where is it ? See the transfer rumours thread, I put the link in there, it's in Bascombe's match report.
Guest Mohjo Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Bascombe says that David Villa was in the directors box yesterday but he's not going to sign soon, anything mentioned in the Spanish press? Probably here for the same reason Raul was here last year ... to see his mates during the Spanish Christmas break. Still it's only the 2nd of Jan so it'll be a couple days before crappy websites pick up on this and spin it into a transfer fiasco.

Raul hadn't been linked with us, though, other than tenuously, Benitez has said he'd be interested in Villa if he became available in the future. It's till only a lad at the match but it's still slightly different to the Raul stuff. I doubt Rafa ever wanted Raul.

Dont think he has played with any of the current Liverpool lads has he ? Raul was very good friends with Morientes and that explained him being here last year, it seems strange that villa would fly over and spend new yeare eve in Liverpool however if it wasnt to visit friends so he must be mates with one of our spanish lads
