I was thinking yesterday as I was listening to my iPOD on shuffle driving through London on wy way back from the parental abode, how my favourite music of today is still in essence my favourite music of when I was 17-20 ish.

 

Yes, I have expanded my tastes a lot - and now listen to a lot more different types of music than I did, but my absolute favourite types of music remain (The Fall, indie jangly guitar pop stuff and 60's pop). I have a lot/some of blues, hip hop, hard rock, psych, reggae, big band, punk, folk and so on - and I love a lot of it - but force me to select what I love the most, and it's the stuff I loved when a student. The only band/artist that would make my all time top 10 now that wouldn't have done back in the day is Sinatra.

 

Am I alone? Is this just nostalgia talking?

 

Or am I being a Matty-baiting obscurant?
