Usually a tough fixture but we really should win this game considering how s*** Charlton are this season.

I am still not overly optimistic however

I don't think he can.

after two 4-0 wins in the league, it's easy to catch yourself thinking we should win this.

Then you remember this is an away game.... :hmm:

Hopefully, it will be a walk-over like yesterday, but with our away form, it could go both ways. One thing is certain. We really need 3 points, to keep the pressure on the top teams. United aren't looking as to drop points at the moment, and Chelsea have a few games in hand.

Charlton are in deep sh*t. It's all Curbishley's fault. We all know that the true measure of a manager is what happens to the club after he leaves - a la O'Neill at Leicester.

I only hope that Jimmy Floyd f*cking Hasselbaink isn't playing. I sometimes think that fella was put on this earth to upset me.

Liverpool win, surely.

what rubbish!!!

so King kenny was a s*** manager because Liverpool and Blackburn struggled after he left?

for some reason I really hate the new charlton manager, he looks like a real c***

Not holding my breath. Our DISMAL record in LONDON, since the inception of the Premiership, has been a major factor in our lack of success (even in 2002 and last year) :(

Are you critisising or complimenting Curbehsley here? If you're critisising him, it seems really odd to say he is a lesser manager by managing to have his team consistently perform above the level of what other managers would be capable of with the same team.

My comments weren't serious. YNWA's resident nutcase, Andy, hates MON and always maintained that the fact they were relegated after he left was his fault. A point of view I've always found hilarious.

There are similarities to the situation at Charlton at the moment. I think they're f*cked and thought as much at the start of the season. That Les Headtheball character hasn't a prayer of keeping them up. They are rudderless. Going down, methinks.

That's OK then, I was about to point out Valencia' plummet under Raneiri.

TBH, I think it just proves that Ian Dowie is a very very poor manager, than proving how good Curbishley is / was.

Will be interesting to see Curbs' next move though, IMO he is the best English manager there is, but then, that is like being the most talented member of atomic kitten.

as much as he is a c***, sam allerdyce has a much better record than curbishly

Being such an immense and dodgy c*** does make him a lesser manager though.

It will at any rate, make it much more difficult for fatty to get a job at a bigger club.

Would be great if we could get another 4-0 victory under our belts, with our strikers scoring the goals and getting there confidence up.

i do wonder what sam would do if he had the luxury of a bigger budget. he's done very well with what he has got tho

keep the budget himself and get players on a bosman ;)

Allerdyce's way of playing football wouldn't be of any use at any other club than Bolton though.

Exactly. Alladyce's brand is lowest common denominator. Anyone, given a disperate bunch of mediocre footballers, can drill them to hoof and bully, and then whine to anyone who'll listen that big clubs get all the decisions.

There is no skill in it, Alladyce is successful with it because most managers that employ that tactic generally are distracted into trying to introduce some brand of football when they attempt to take it to the next level.

I think he's a good manager, but he don't half bang on about his budget, which kinds of misses the point. He gets the players he can get to Bolton, regardless if he could spend £10m a player or not. Look at Wigan for example, they cant spend what they could. He goes for the failing or faltering end of very good players, last chance salooon merchants who are either over the hill or carrying bags, because that's all he can attract.

That said he buses in a load of these every season, many fail, some stick. With the players he has, they should be where they are, and like Chelsea they could play way more football while they are at it. I think he's too set in his method to succeed at the highest level, he needs to be holding an underdog badge to excuse his tactics and big dips in form.

A win at Charlton will give us our 100th Premiership away win :hmm:
