With the recent news of an imminent takeover of my beloved club, my plans for a projected takeover of LFC in 2026 have been shattered... or at least my estimated projections now have been doubled!!

I have been seriously putting a business plan together for the last 6 months where I wanted to deliver the club back to the people a la Shanks. It was going to start with sponsoring kids in the Academy and building it up from there.

Being a Kirkby boy in exile I thought that this could be the greatest show of strength and unity of our club and people... I know we have shareholders before you shoot me down but this whole "Reclaim the Kop" idea has got me all inspired again!

I know we all want success at LFC and that we have been brought up on a steady diet of League titles... unless you are 15 and under, but at what price?

I'm proud to be scouse, I'm proud of my club that hasn't sold it's soul or identity in a desperate pursuit of money and hollow achievements. Sadly, I knew this was inevitable when Murdoch paid all that money for the TV rights in the early nineties and the old League was revamped to the Sky Premiership.

The blood of the people is the colour of our shirt. Our emotions ride on the crest of the players wave. So it just makes natural sense that if all the fans who stump up loads of cash every year for a season ticket, shirts etc could pool funds together and take back what is rightfully ours (the club and the League) then it would make our Title wins all the more sweeter.

A swelling river, a rising tide. My heart, my pride, my Merseyside.

Reclaim our club!!

Kirkby is scouse mate, believe me, never saw a sheep or a rugby league ball while I was there la.

My family all from Scotty Road.

I suggest you go to the Windy and ask the lads there if they are wools... sure they would be happy to "discuss"

Do you reckon Moores will take your Giro then? ;)

A Southdene Kirkby lad meself. Anyone wants to call Kirkbyites 'wools' should try it any night of the week in the falcon, Kingfisher, Park Brow, Woodpecker, Johnny Todd, Carters Arms..

We'll collect you in a doggy bag when it's all over.

Actually Fyds, I used to play five-a-side for the Carters Arms on a Tuesday night. Some shady looking characters there mate.. I think you needed to be an axe wielding maniac and have done some porridge just to get a start for them!

The Windy is a long time favourite. You can fall straight out of there and into me Nan's for a few standards!!

Just winding you up, mate. After the big thread over whether Kirkby was scouse or not.

I used to go to the Carters Arms (top end of westvale, near the station for those who know the geography) most days way back, with the lads from the band I was in at the time - the guitarist and drummer lived just around the corner in the newer houses. After a few bevvies one night, the guitarist walked with me to the bust stop to talk over various things, while the drummer went to get some chips. After getting them, he was walking the 300 yards home when two coppers standing next to their jam butty asked him for some chips 'No chance la, it's ne tea!' he grinned at them. They dragged him off into the field across the road and kicked seven bells out of him. That was always a problem back then - bored coppers on nights.

The Carters Arms though - plenty of fights in there on Fridays and weekends, but quite civilised compared to some Kirkby pubs. Me and Reo (the guitarist) turned out for their footy team a couple of times - he was a striker and I was a defender in the GBH mode. I've never done porridge, but I've eaten a fair bit :)

Seems like another world all these years on. Haven't been back to Kirkby since my adoptive Mam's funeral almost 10 years ago.
