Four games in quick succession, the second of which comes up this Saturday, quickly followed by Gallatasaray on Wednesday for the thrid home game in a row, then Bolton away the following Sat. Last two teams have been fairly stable and we are on the way up the table for a change. 6 more points in the prem this month is very possible, but with an eye on the CL, who do you think Rafa will field v Spurs?

I was close picking the team vs Chavski (only scuppered by Bellamy instead of a proper LM), so I am feeling brave enough to give it a go (no doubt I will be humbled by Rafa come the weekend ;) )

Reina

Finnan

Carra

Sami

Warnock

Pennant

Gerrard

Alonso

Zenden

Crouch

Bellamy

Subs: Dudek, Sissoko, Kuyt, Garcia, Agger.

Proper width at home will undo the visitors I feel, and with Xabi back on track should free up Stevie to push forward (maybe finally get one in). Without Carrick they dont seem to be able to boss the centre, however Momo can come on later if ball busting is needed. Aurelio to be rested for the CL and doesn't look comfortable next to Hyypia. Momo probably needs a rest as has started most games. Agger looked tired as well.

Crouchy in for Bellamy, otherwise, wouldn't change much barring injuries of course. Defo want to see Luis Garcia against Spurs tho.

Don't see why the back four need changing now either.

you'd leave kuyt out of the 15? and why drop agger?

Bellamy on the bench and in the starting line up. What's that all about?

Fixed.

I see no reason to change the team from last night.

If we are winning 2-0 in the second half then rest Gerrard.

First of all, that Rafa will change the team with an eye on the CL, is probably a given. Second, We will have played 5 games between the 17th and 30th September. Rotation policy will be enforced. But its anyone's guess how.

Any chance you could mail me some of that Anfield grass you're smoking?

It is professional grass.

I think Agger should play against Spurs and Galatasaray. We should replace him with Hyppia for the game against Bolton, when we are in for 90 minutes of aerial bombardment. Hyppia is still one of the best defensive headers in the premier league.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sissoko and Kuyt rested with Pennant and Crouch coming in:

Reina

Finnan Carragher Agger Aurelio

Pennant Gerrard Alonso Garcia

Bellamy Crouch

Subs: Dudek, Hyypia, Sissoko, Gonzalez, Kuyt

Rafa doesn't do unchanged line ups.

I would keep Agger in for Bolton and "rest" him against Galatasaray. He has proved already that he can handle the big strong forwards (Drogba twice and Rooney for Denmark). Kevin Davies is exactly that and Agger will have his work cut out for him again. Yes they will lump high balls into the box but they should be able to handle that. Also with Anelka's pace and him having a point to prove, Agger's pace is vital in this game. Sammi should play against Galatasaray to give Agger a "rest" and for his vast CL experience.

In my opinion Agger and Carra are the number 1 partnership now although Sammi will get his fair share of games too.
