Black trackies

So, I get home a couple of days ago and yesterday I go for a wander from Muirhead Ave into town looking smart and doing a Richard Ashcroft type stroll, down through Tuebrook, Newsham Park, Boaler St and that, and every lad under the age of thirty five is wearing black trackies. Everyone of them. Sometimes in gangs of a dozen or so. Lads riding bikes while having a ciggy. Little lads, big lads. All in Hugo Boss or Fred Perry or Nike or Lacost, but all jet black trackies. Older fellas out walking their dog are wearing black trackie tops and black shorts.

 

Me in a pair of jeans and a denim jacket, I start feeling like Coco the Clown dressed in obscenely bright colours like, er, dark blue.

 

What's happened there then? Is it just that part of town or has been some kind of by-law passed?
