Very good indeed in general, didn't stand for any of the diving business and got almost everything right.

 

Isn't Rosetti the one Moggi said he didn't want because he was 'too impartial' when he was arranging refs to suit Juve's needs?

 

Would be pleased to see him doing more of our games...

In the second half I wasn't that impressed with the ref. Thought he seemed to give them a free everytime one of theirs went down, particularly Bocoli who seemed to go down everytime one of our players breathed on him.

 

Just thought he seemed to be punishing us for things that they were getting away with, particularly pushing during aerial challenges.

That new directive to not raise the flag until the player touches the ball will cause more than a few heart attacks!

 

It really is stupid, but the linesman is just obeying the UEFA rules so fair enough to him...

Yep, I though the ref was excellent, took very little of their diving sh*te, seemed to let the game flow and didn't feck up many decisions.

 

Not sure why he booked Finnan though, possibly timewasting, in which case fair enough.

I seem to remember Rosetti did Argentina against Mexico in the World Cup, which was a fantastic game and again he tried to let it flow and put up with as little of the diving as possible.

 

He possibly should have sent off Heinze if I remember rightly for denying Mexico a goalscoring opportunity, but I'd actually rather refs tried to keep everyone on the pitch if they can, as long as those decisions work both ways...

I say fair enough, because I think on the whole we were time wasting (and damn right too considering the circumstances - worth a booking) but I didn't think Finnan was, he seemed to be waiting for a ball to take a throw in with

except the repeated diving of the Israeli players, and the blatant fouls on Alonso (2 1st half and 1 2nd)...some of his decisions second half were bordering on the bizarre

I noticed he was time wasting before he got booked, the ball had gone out and the ballboy was offering another one right next to Finnan, who completely ignored it and waited for the other ball to come back, delaying the play.

Surprised he didn't whistle up when Hyppia got kicked in the face just prior to the dive though.
