If you can get a ticket mate go for it.

Your lad will be fine if you keep him close enough to you, I take my lad the United and BS games all the time and he is still only 7.

The Derby is a little more animated and there will obviously be plenty of swearing but I'm guessing your expecting that anyway, it all adds to the fun.

Away days are a completely different story.

As for what to do on the day, musuem and stadium tour will make his day, bit of a shop and try and get in one of the local pubs for an hour before hand to join in the banter/songs

Hope you's have a great day

What he said.

There are too many of these package deals for my liking but whilst they are still out there you may as well take advantage or someone else will.

I can see why people might feel it is a bit unfair for someone who has never been before to somehow get a ticket for the derby, but how many of those same people would turn down a ticket for, say, Celtic v Rangers, Milan v Inter or Real v Barca, if they were prepared to do the travelling required, on the basis that it wouldn't be fair?

Don't get me wrong, I can see why people aren't totally comfortable with this and I suppose I would even say to glen celtic to make sure that his next visit is to a 'lesser' game. What takes the piss is people who only ever want to go to the 'big' games - not someone planning a one-off trip for their kids' birthday. These deals do cut down other people's chances of getting there (myself included as I only share a season ticket) but glen celtic sounds more deserving than some who get tickets this way.

NB I don't think the stadium tour is available on match days, though I may be wrong. Take your son over to have a look at Goodison instead and show him what grounds used to look like when they were still made of wood and people were happy to sit behind big pillars. Like stepping back in time it is.

Is right

Everton fans at the Derby are not a pretty spectacle and they create a sour, spiteful atmosphere.

Not really, he will be fine. It's not as if he's thinking of taking him to Goodison for the derby.

Away to Haifa might be a good option...

Seriously though Even if you wanted to take him to the derby I think the Atmosphere would be a tad bit imtimidating....

But its up to you....I think if you were to take him to the Derby make a quick exit, Plus the tour isn't exactly good, It can get boring and you can't hold the trophies.

fec all wrong with the atmos, load of big girls on 'ere today, not like you have to sit with the Bitters is it :D

Just go to the game, don't sit in the away bit or in the stands right next to the away end (cos you'll spend more time getting annoyed with the twunts from both sides baiting each other rather than supporting their teams), and it's fine! And then don't go out looking for trouble after.

Hi all - probably in the wrong forum but I'm looking for info regarding the home derby against Everton in February. My son who will be 9 is nearly as mad a Liverpool fan as me and has been looking to go to Anfield for some time. I've always wanted to go myself but never got around to it though I've been an LFC fan for nearly 30 years. Firstly I would like to know if he is too young yet to enjoy the full experience of going to Anfield. Secondly to get the most out of the weekend what else should I be looking to do? I would like him to visit the Museum and get the tour as I've heard from a friend who visited last season that it is awesome! I can book package tours here but neither of us like the thoughts of the coach journey and I was hoping to fly in and take it from there.

I would really appreciate any help or any thoughts - I would like this to be special for him as he is fanatical about Liverpool (I thought I was bad!)

Is his name Wezza?

I take it you are talking about skelton travel and companies like that, think they have some season tickets and they also buy off touts that's why it costing you at a guess around £300 odds.If I was you I would take the lad to a lesser match,If done right you could do the whole trip for about£200/250 all in.

For example am taking my lad with me this season and have booked 10 flights (5each) for £340.All it takes is a wee bit of forward planning.

I normally travel on the Belfast/Birkenhead boat.Wouldnt dream of giving the likes of skelton 300 quid for the package.73 pound for the boat and thats with your bed threw in!I,ll be over for spurs in sept.
