Guest 7777 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 (edited) I'm certain if Rafa REALLY wanted a player at X amount the board would fund it, its just not his style Sometimes it is not always the most expensive table legs that fit best Or something like that Edited May 24, 2006 by 7777
Guz Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I'm certain if Rafa REALLY wanted a player at X amount the board would fund it, its just not his style Sometimes it is not always the most expensive table legs that fit best Or something like that If Benitez was in Mourinho's shoes, or even had a MASSIVE wedge of cash, I dont think he would be out looking for £2m Josemi or Pellegrino on a free etc. If he wanted say Schevchenko, could afford him, hed tell the board to go and get him.
Guest Dave B Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 We're still building a title winning side, and still need quailty in a few positions, so we can't spend all our cash on two players.
StevieC Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 In the past our big signings have gone wrong or they have been a success... Awesome. You should be a pundit.
chrisbonnie Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 i have to agree with the defender here id love for us to make a massive signing, apart from the obvioud fact that any striker is a gamble in this day and age, i think Torres would be the man, he`s young, quick, skillful, i really dont see 1 dent in his armoury, i know a few of the lads living in spain think he can be a bit lazy, but lets be honest, how many strikers do we really know, track back, defend, and will a ball in midfield? i dont know one that could, yet still have the ability to get into goal scoring positions, look at horseface for the mancs, doesnt do a f***ing thing all game but pops up in the 6 yard box and does the business speculate to accumulate
RedNik Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 With Gonzalez coming in, we are sorted on the left. Couldn't we also move HK to his "preferred" right and have him and Garcia vying for that position? Doesn't that essentially sort us out? Kewell on the right means that he isn't really going to get to the by-line, but he wasnt really doing that this season on the left. Nonetheless, he had great impact and was one of the prime reasons for out great form in the latter period of the year.
