The Spanish newspaper El Mundo told that Real Sociedad would try to get a loan-contract with the Dane Daniel Agger.

-Would it be a good choise for him and for reds to loan him out?

Would Paletta even be able to play for us next season? We seem to have a few non eu players on the way

he has an Italian passport

Maybe we're going to loan out Agger and bring back Medjani, after his recent excellent displays.

That would make a lot of sense, although it would be a shame to see Agger going after such a short time, unless it made him into a better player for us, and anyway it would be sink or swin for Medjani, and amybe we could swap them half way through if the transfer window was open and it did not work out.

Been quite impressed with Agger from what i have seen and i reckon with a good pre season behind him he will be ready to fight for a place.

The Agger situation puzzled me towards the end of the season. I thought when he was purchased we had pursued him as a ready made CH replacement. He was given the odd start and then we didn't see anything of him in the run in. Was he injured or was he just not quite ready for the big time yet?

On a different note, has anyone seen much of Alonso's brother playing for Sociedad?

yeah been quite impressed hasnt got the passing range of xabi but appears to have more pace and more attacking flair but apparently mikel is older than xabi , though he looks younger

I think Agger is ready to for the Premiership now. Not seen anything of Paletta though.

Paletta is a man mountain, don't know if he can play but he blocks out the sun.

ughhhhhhh loaning a player NEVEr seems to work in our benefit in my opinion...

Very, very rare a player goes out on loan and comes back a much improved player who cements his place in the first team..

id be interested to see a list of players who have gone out on loan in the past 10 years and how many came back improved AND became a much-used member of our first team...

Thats because (apart from Gonzalez) we haven't sent any top class players on loan. It depends entirely on how good the player is, if he's quality like Mark Gonzalez, then he'll shine when he's on loan.

Look at Beckham and Giggs as other examples. It can work if the player is good enough. In some cases, FSP, Le Tallec, Whitbread, it can confirm that they aren't good enough. But its not the act of loaning them out that makes them a bad player. It can prove the making of a player or the end of his Liverpool career but that only depends on his talent and attitude.

Sami (and Carra to an extent) made some effort to play the amount of games he did last season, I'd be surprised if it's the same amount this year to be honest.

Seen a lot of agger at under-21s this week

He looks really good with the ball, brings it out of defence a lot to start attacks, passes really well can tackle and looks comfortable in the air.

However, iIm not sure about his positioning and awareness as he was nowhere when italy scored 3 on monday and was nowhere when huntelaar poached one for holland (apart from that he had him in his pocket)

He took a nasty knock and was left concussed and had to go off after 67 minutes and had a huge bandage on head after match

spoke to him after the match on wednesday and i have never seen a player look more gutted after a match - and theyd drawn with italy

Agger speaks

(Check the site tomorrow for Molby speaking about Agger)

oh and he's got his hair cut into a messy mohican

They only thing i can really think of, if the Sociedad rumors are true, is that maybe we are bringing in someone like Luisao?

erhm and maybe they would try the same as the Newcastle game where they played with 3 defenders. actual I talked with agger after that match because me and my school was in Liverpool and then our teachers get a arrangementwith him. and he played very well in that match.

So you did see him at the 21.3. abt. 23.45????

Who has stood out in the tournament for you Adiman? I haven't seen any of it

Honestly the standard overall has not been great as all the teams seem pretty tired given that the season has just ended and there is a very intense schedule.

But France have been different class. A much-changed effectively reserve team outclassed Serbia last night. They are very strong in the middle. Rio Mavuba (all round midfielder with great acceleration) has excelled while Jéremy Toulalan was oustanding against Serbia when he played more centrally ahead of Mavuba. He is a skilful passing midfielder who the French reckon is their best young player. He has just been signed by Lyon and Gérard looks to have got a gem this time. Also Chelsea's Diarra has been slotted in alongside them and I can see where the Makalele comparisons come from, although potentially I think Diarra's use of the ball might be better than Makalele's.

ALT also played very well yesterday is his first game since injury and was involved in both goals playing as a second striker. BTW he definitely wants to leave - not happy with Rafa.

CinemaPopcorn also played well in France's second match- on the left of an attacking three of all places, scoring with a nice free-kick.

Elsewhere, the Danes have looked good with Kahlenberg (Auxerre), attacking midfielder, looking tasty while Bendter from Arsenal also looks very good in attack (Jan Molby reckons he will go far).

Ukraine's striker Milevsky has been getting good reports too but I havent seen him play yet.

The Dutch have been very disappointing with Huntelaar getting very poor service although he poached his goal well from his only chance

Bayern are looking to bring in Kahlenberg to replace Ballack according to Kicker.

And according to reports in Danish press over the weekend Bendter is very unpopular in the squad after some unfortunate comments to the press about his team mates. He's got the talent alright but it sounds like he's a little "too cool for school".
