  1. I actually believe the sentiment, I'm just a bit suspicious as to whether it holds up under pressure.
  2. According to Broughton, no. The winning bid will not necessarily be that which is the highest. Allegedly.

  4. He was joking FFS.
  5. Yes, I know. The original post was talking about a Dixons store though not a Dixons Travel store. Christ, can't somebody be pedantic c*** any more without being hounded.
  6. Well again, to be pedantic, that's Dixons Travel which is different to Dixons (and Currys). Dixons stores are now all Currys.digital.
  7. I like it. Except you can't walk into a Dixons any more, and anyway Currys and Dixons are owned by the same lot. Try Comet instead. Yours pedantically... And f*** YOU AE!

  9. Does rather sound like he'd been asked by G+H to do the interview and talk up the price. It all looks a bit desperate though if that's the best they can do.
  10. Did Orville come across well?
  11. I bet you Max has a ripped version of that episode on his iPhone, and bores the s*** out of his mates down the pub every Friday by playing it over and over again.
  12. Aye. This Sissoko isn't it?
  13. Max Power? Isn't that from an episode of the Simpsons? It bloody is isn't it?

  15. For some reason I mistook you for a thick c***. My apologies.
  16. The "far east" would of course include China.

  19. The Huang bid is clearly a legitimate attempt to buy the club - I mean it's not just PR. The real question is whether there is genuine finance behind the deal (by CIC or whoever) or whether that is just smokes and mirrors. I have to say I have my doubts about whether the money is actually there. But there's clearly other bidders as well. Over the next week or two I think we'll learn a bit more about them. My hunch is that the winning bid will probably come from that group rather than Huang.
  20. Well, yes, that's a possibility . Depends how these funds are run though I guess. On the flipside however, even if it CIC behind this particular takeover, I doubt whether LFC would be seeing a sizeable chunk of that money. Again though, depends how the fund is run though. Time will tell what kind of finance is behind the deal.
  21. Well, yes China has far more than $298B floating around, but that's beside the point. We're dealing with CIC here, nothing else. I'm still not sure what you were disagreeing with in the original post. Nobody mentioned China's overall wealth at all.
  22. What's that got to do with the CIC fund, which is what is meant to be the funding this particular bid. Was has US debt to China got to do with anything? In fact the original quote from the Man City fan even mentions the CIC fund, so what are you actually disagreeing with here?
  23. I'm not. The CIC fund is worth approximately $298 billion, no matter what the (edited) and quite funny wikipedia entry says. Or do you really believe the fund is worth $298 trilllion!?
  24. That would be $297 trillion, which is greater than the entire global wealth. I guess we're talking $297 billion - a trifling amount in comparison.
