  1. So in other words we are back to where we are when Rodgers left and some kind of 5 year plan.
  2. I think the problem being Barcola, Gakpo, Rio and Munoz is so unbalanced. I wouldn't want to start any of them on the right. Reckon I'd prefer Szoboszlai as an inverted right midfielder and get the width from right back.
  3. Some rumours we may look at Endrick if Gakpo is sold. Left footed, can play as a striker or on the right wing.
  4. Kounde might be available. Can play RB and CB.
  5. Yep I reckon he gets bullied in the premier league.
  6. Yeah was thinking more of the profile. Cheap and covers both CB/RB positions. Saw a very tentative link to Acheampong yesterday.
  7. I hope so. Not convinced at this stage, we seem to be looking for a hybrid CB/RB as opposed to two. I think we end up with someone like Geertruida which won't be sufficient.
  8. I understand that but appears the choice is someone very cheap or no one. Id happily take an injury prone Stones over no one. No I don't see it either. I see Minteh as more of a Madueke. Pace to burn. Little end product. That's not to say he won't explode and be great but spending £70 million on him now imo would be insane.
  9. Sure. We made the mistake at the time but the reason he cost £40 million was his contract situation not his value that's a separate issue. We could easily address one of our weaknesses by signing Stones for free, however we don't appear to be interested which I find to be bizarre.
  10. The market has changed. Guarantee if those players were for sale now the prices would double.
  11. No idea. He's reporting from America and his page says he is responsible for covering Liverpool. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/topics/c9wx1wnyxp5t
  12. BBC saying if we sign Barcola there's basically no more budget without sales. Sources stress that if Liverpool bring in Bradley Barcola, who Paris St-Germain value in excess of £100m, then there will be limitations to what more they can do in the market. Deals for Jacquet and Victor Munoz have cost a combined £94.5m. Without any major outgoings from Iraola's squad, there is an understanding that this summer will not be like last summer when a club record £450m was spent.
  13. He'd start at Arsenal he's much better than Martinelli.
  14. Our need is greater than theirs. We just need to do what Chelsea did with Rogers and offer an amount Arsenal won't go near.
  15. And we won't or at least I hope we won't, but if you want a Rayan or Barcola you have to pay over a £100 million there is no way around this. Our 'value' signing has been made in Munoz.
  16. But both Mane and Salah were performing at a high level when we signed them. I recall seeing Mane score a hat trick for Southampton in 10 minutes. I'm all for this approach if there are actually players in top leagues doing this. Question is who are they? Surely we'd have heard of names by now.
  17. This is the problem we have now got ourselves into.
  18. I've no idea what value there is in signing El Mala unless you are saying he's better than Ngumoha and Munoz. (If that's the case we shouldn't have bought Munoz)
  19. We should have signed him in January. We have to overpay now or make do with Frimpong.
  20. That's probably about right but reckon we need two of them and Diomande has no chance now. I definitely don't want any of the other names linked though so would prefer a change of formation to one without wingers. Unless there is a quality alternative out there not yet mentioned.
  21. Happy with Rayan. But don't see Bournemouth selling this summer.
  22. Well considering Barcola is a left winger seems odd... Or we will be briefed into believing El Mala, Fernandez Pardo, Minteh or Neto are good enough.
  23. Barcola, Rayan, Baleba, Cambiaso and Zabarnyi will suffice.
  24. I'd love to know what the 'suitable' alternatives are.
