Masherano has enjoyed something of a "force field" from severe criticism after his awesome form in his first season. If it goes on into next season then he will suffer a similar "forum fate" as Alonso did when he fell off form dramatically.

Well you would struggle to fit Carra, Skrtel and Agger in our "best side" I think - that leaves you with only 7 in your "category 1" - there lies our problems.

There have been times when the matchday squad available hasnt meant he needed to play 2 holding midfielders at home to relegation fodder- but he CHOSE to do so. Getting transfers might influence the bigger picture, but he still has a squad that is HIS to pick from.

Why? Ok, the Keane situation was a mess but that doesnt effect some of the tactics we have seen this season does it? They might affect the business of the club, but what happens on the field isnt influenced by them, thats Rafas domain.

Sissoko is alright, not suited to the English league though. Mental tackler and really poor passer of the ball at times.

I like Riera, hes off form but he clearly has ability and a good squad player. Dossena is one of the worst full backs to ever play for the club. If not worst players when you balance it with the fee.

I know it isnt right or fashionable to pick a scapegoat for any particular defeat but f***ing hell he is s*** isnt he? What is his actual skill set? It sure isnt passing. Long or short. So if he cant pass presumably he can tackle a bit? No. Cant do that either. Clearly Rafa didnt have a lot of options open to him with Gerrard and Alonsos absence but he has to be at the top of a rather long list of players that are for the chopping block in the summer.
