We had a great base to build on. Unfortunately it became a project of vanity for Hughes and co. We needed to add, to improve. We did that, but at the same time weakened other positions and thought we could muddle through. Arsenal have replaced players they’ve let go, and have added to positions where they’ve improved. Thats exactly what we don’t do.

They’ve done what we’ve never managed to do. We’ve never truly built on a solid base. We had it once under Klopp, where we had two players for every position. Most of the time we’ve been left short in one position. This time, atm, we’re short in numerous.

Nothing against Arnie, but at least there’s something about him that seems interesting. Slot was clinical and to the point, sometimes too much, whereas Iraola seems to have a better personality. Fingers crossed and all that.
