Is this some kind of elitist discussion?

Salah? I like him!

Good move for him. He had a strong season as a centreback for Red Bull Salzburg, my local team. It's well worth keeping an eye on their young players by the way. The development of Mane, Keita and other players was only the start of something big. Players of Salzburg's worldclass academy won the UEFA CL Youth League this year. If they prove themselves in the academy and the lower leagues, they are offered a chance to play in the Austrian Bundesliga. After excelling there, a move to RB Leipzig could be in the cards. By all but guaranteeing them this clear path to the German Bundesliga, more and more young players choose Red Bull Salzburg's academy over other popular clubs.

Yes. According to the local media here in Salzburg, the loan deal will be confirmed today.

Reports here in Austria claim that Klopp wants to buy Leicester LB Christian Fuchs before the transfer window closes. I don't think there's any truth in it. Especially as the article quoted the one newspaper we Liverpool fans should never forgive.

A possible solution for two problems: German International Matthias Ginter (22, Borussia Dortmund) is reportedly available according to "Kicker". There are rumours of a transfer to VfL Wolfsburg. Ginter can play as a Defensive Midfielder and is also a good option at the Centreback position.

Ryan Bertrand?

Regarding Jonas Hector from 1. FC Köln: According to reports from their training camp in Austria, Hector will play the role of a defensive midfielder next season. He was used primarily as a LB last season but also played in midfield for a few matches. Hector himself said that he will stay at Köln. On the other hand - someone who can play at LB and DM would be perfect for us. He would also be practically guaranteed a place in the starting lineup at all times.

Klopps LB was Marcel Schmelzer - good at both defending and attacking. Same goes for Pisczek at RB with Kehl playing DM if I remember correctly.

Allan will definitely go on loan to Hertha BSC this season. According to Kicker, he played and impressed in a test match. There will be no loan fees or buying options involved.

A good choice. He will respect his role in the squad without complains and his vast experience (f.e. training with Buffon) might be welcomed especially by Karius. It will be like having another GK coach. And it is nice to have an Austrian in the squad ;-) Auf geht's, Alex!

Good shout. But Schalke would try to get Max Value out of him.

No. If Klopp wants him and we buy him there should be no problem.

My personal take on Sadio Mane, having watched him play for RB Salzburg many times: - has already performed well in a system based on heavy pressing - is most dangerous when played right/left behind 1 or 2 strikers - can act very selfish by placing himself above the team (e.g. forcing through moves to other clubs...)

Sadio Mane is very difficult to deal with. When he played for Red Bull Salzburg he was fined many times and left the team once a night before a Champions League qualifying match. He was sold to Southampton a few days later. Not quite a nutter like Diouf was, but getting close. And bad for team chemistry.

Kicker website says Karius deal done. 10 mio EUR, will be new No. 1. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/652017/artikel_karius-mit-liverpool-einig.html

Rumours in German news today: Liverpool trying to get GK Timo Horn from Köln, Zieler to replace him. Nordveidt (Mönchengladbach) going to West Ham.

Time for revenge.

One thing that is well known about Klopp is that he's preparing summer transfers very early. The way it should be. Every transfer could well be finalized by April/May (if the negotiators are doing their job...).

There is also talk about Großkreutz going back to Germany and signing for 1.FC Köln.

1. Clyne 2. Can 3. Milner

Ibe Sakho Firmino

1. Coutinho 2. Skrtel 3. Sakho

Bogdan is so much better than Jones ever was.
