Considering the longest legally binding contract we can offer him is 5 years (EU/UEFA ruling post Bosman case), whoever is spouting about 6 year contracts is talking through their ar5e. -

L'Equipe are reporting that Cisse's transfer will be completed on Monday. €7.5M (~£5M) plus a percentage of next sale fee. -
Sounds promising.

There isn't alot of information available about Aleksandrov. Seems like he played on the right of midfield for Bulgaria U21 - England v Bulgaria U21 Match Report. -

That would show a lack of commitment to the move on the part of Torres. In the past players have cut short their holiday to sign and I would expect Torres to be no different. I reckon that Cisse being offloaded to Marseille in the next couple of days will trigger the signing of Torres. -

Presumably that's rehashed quotes as there has been nothing new in the French media. L'Equipe had a story that Chelsea have offered €17M (£12M) for Malouda but the Lyon club president wants €25M. However an offer of €20-22M could be accepted. -

From L'Equipe: Pape Diouf was in Liverpool yesterday to sort out the Cisse transfer. Discussions were friendly but constructive. Progress was made but Liverpool are in control of the situation. Liverpool will give them a response in a couple of days. Looks like Rafa's no more loans for Cisse policy is going to pay dividends. Djibril Cisse also attended the meeting to affirm his desire to remain with Marseille. -

So from those reports we're to take it that the Torres transfer is on ice until July 10th. I can't see Rafa being happy with that as he wanted to get the new players bedded in with a full pre-season behind them, maybe they are now going to concentrate on securing a winger - the June 30th deadline set by the Lyon club president and Malouda is fast approaching. -

I wasn't suggesting it was the opposition's fault, with no disrespect to them but the teams that visited Anfield for 3.00pm kick offs were relegation fodder. You are never going to get the same atmosphere at those games as against the bigger teams. If they think that "Block 1892" is going to change that then they need psychiatric help. The atmosphere in stadiums all over Europe has suffered from the same problem since they have gone all seater and specially designated singing sections have made no improvement. The stadiums with the best atmosphere are those where the crowd is squeezed in on top of the pitch and those are a dying breed. If they want to restore the Kop to its former glory then rip out the seats and get 24000 fans in there, no more specially designated singing sections would be required then.

I wasn't being sarcastic at all. He could have done a Michael Owen on them but chose not to, instead he signed a contract extension and ensured Arsenal would get a transfer fee for him. -

I don't believe the David Dein element of the story at all, it was convenient for Henry to say that. When Patrick Vieira left the club he said in an interview with L'Equipe that the French Renaissance at Arsenal was coming to an end, that once their contracts ran out, Pires, Henry and Wenger would all leave the club. Pires said the same when he was touting himself around Europe in 2005. Either the two former Arsenal players are psychic or more likely the French contingent at Arsenal had previously discussed the issue amongst themselves. By signing a contract extension last summer, Henry ensured that Arsenal would get a decent transfer fee for him this year - that's the kind of nice guy he is. They have the services of Wenger for another season and even without Henry they will be challengers. If Van Persie hadn't been out injured they wouldn't have been so hampered by the injuries to Henry this season. -

Henry has been receiving treatment for Sciatica since he was at Monaco. It's the reason he makes miracle recoveries from supposed hamstring injuries - he receives treatment for a day or two and the inflamation in his back goes down so he gets the full use of his legs back again. There was feature about it on Physioroom.com back in November. -
Could that be because of the opposition? The 3.00pm kick offs last season were against Charlton, Sheff Utd, Wigan, Fulham, Reading, Villa, Man City and Blackburn. Personally I think the whole idea is a load of b*ll*cks. "Singing section probably gives the wrong impression. This is a block where supporters who are in tune with the club's history and customs can congregate - fans who understand the Liverpool Way." From that quote I take it that "Reclaim The Kop" and "Block 1892" is not about a singing section, seems more like the birth of a Liverpool Ultra group.

The whole thing came about as part of the fallout from the Bosman ruling. There was an upstart at Arsenal by the name of Anelka who signed a four year contract worth £1 million after breaking in to the first team. Along came the Real Madrid president and offered the player five times his salary. Arsenal refused the advances of Madrid and were determined to hold on to the player. Anelka sulked and ran home to France, claiming he was too upset to train. His brothers contacted the lawyer who handled the Bosman case to represent Anelka. He contacted Arsenal and UEFA claiming that he was confident that the European Court would rule that the player could buyout his contract for £1M and move clubs as a free agent. Arsenal slapped a ridiculous price on the player which Madrid foolishly paid and UEFA got to work on rules regarding player contract buyouts. At present the rules don't affect players under the age of 24 but it's only a matter of time before somebody challenges it. -
The people who nominated these three should be named and shamed.
