Football clubs exist to win trophies, not collect large hoardes of cash like some sort of Trust Fund for the future. You have to balance financial sensibilities with a strategy for the team, that will pay-off short-term and provide a platform for the new financial era in the future. Know plenty of very sensible Arsenal fans, and they truly believe that if Wenger had only replaced Henry with say David Villa and paid the required fee for a decent keeper they would have win the League at least once in the last 5 years. Ironically, for all their financial stability and great new stadium we have the two players they really need. As it is they've won nothing in that time, and those very same fans were calling for his head on Saturday, they like us know time us running out for their star players with no sign of silverware in sight.
