In 2006 for the final in Paris the dates for the ballot were as follows. Ballot application window opens: 3 Feb 2006 Ballot application window closes: 24 Feb 2006 Ballot takes place in March. It'll probably be something similar this time.

That's the whole point though. They nag and moan at the ref from the first minute of every game. By the time a big decision like the penalty needs to be made the ref has already been influenced and pressurised into giving things their way meaning that there is no need for massive appeals. Just look at some of the soft penalties the mancs get, they don't have to appeal at all anymore. It's a deliberate and effective drip drip effect on the mind of the ref that builds up over the course of a game or season.

I think that this guard of honour thing is a new UEFA initiative. They did the same thing at the UEFA Cup final and will probably look to do it at all finals from now on.

LFC star accused of punching fan Nov 6 2006 Daily Post LIVERPOOL FC star Momo Sissoko was last night at the centre of allegations that he was involved in a bust-up at a takeaway in the early hours of yesterday morning. It ended with one man being punched in the face following an argument. The incident occurred at the Hot 'n' Tender takeaway in Smithdown Road at around 3am, several hours after Sissoko played as a substitute in Liverpool's 2-0 victory over Reading at Anfield. It is believed a group of people became involved in an argument with 21-year-old Sissoko and a group of his friends after the midfielder was asked for his autograph. Gareth Hughes, of Wavertree, claims Sissoko punched his 18-year-old brother Gavin in the face, leaving him with a swollen cheekbone and black eye. The manager of the takeaway confirmed an incident had taken place. Liverpool FC spokesman Ian Cotton was unable to comment on the incident. A spokesman for Merseyside Police said last night: "We can confirm that officers are investigating a claim from a 19-year-old man in relation to an assault that is alleged to have occurred at 3.30am at a takeaway on Smithdown Road."
