hate the git but ye have to admire his no nonsense attitude to his job Roy’s ‘no’ to shirt swaps By Clive Hetheringon ROY KEANE has banned his Sunderland players from swapping shirts with Liverpool’s stars after today’s clash at the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats boss doesn’t do star-struck and doesn’t want his players getting starry-eyed either. “I’ve heard stories of other players who got promoted, and they were so busy trying to ask for a player’s shirt that they couldn’t be focused on the game. “It’s part of a manager’s job to make sure the players are focused and that there are no sideshows. It’s understandable when you’re young that you ask for a player’s shirt, but when you get senior players and they’re asking during the game, are they really focused on the game? They’re more focused on getting someone’s jersey. “You hear players who say, ‘I have 50 jerseys in my garage’ and you think, ‘Oh, brilliant, how many medals have you got?’ You shouldn’t be in awe of these teams. I believe we can win this weekend — otherwise I would take a day off.”
