But if you sweep it under the carpet, rather than take the offending club to task, you will never stand a chance of getting over this happening. I think the reality is, if a bigger club comes in for one of your players, whether you make a song or dance, or say nothing, if the player wants to go, then you've had it. When the Anelka saga was going on, and to a lesser extent the Vieira one, I was desperate for the club to make a stand and let them rot in the reserves until their contract expired. Just one club making a stand would send a big message, but its unlikely to ever happen.

I put it down to him growing sick and tired of having his best players approached in this illicit manner. Cole, Vieira, Petit, Overmars, Henry, Hleb, Cesc, all been approached without the consent of the club.

Liverpool not commenting on a ficticious bid for one of their players is hardly comparable to complaining that one of you players has been 'tapped up' the night befor a CL match.

Disappointingly, I would have to agree with you. I think he has handles this situation badly, and generally made a bit of an ass of himself, but generally I like how he conducts himself. Straight shooting, no bulls***.

For example: Making an official complaint about a handful of fans saying something to him at the Emirates, without thinking of the majority of Old Trafford screaming 'sit down you Paedophile' over the last 12 years at Wenger Complaining about the treatment his flair players receive on the pitch, while for 2-3 years he made it his gameplan to set the Neville sisters out to cynically remove Jose Antonio Reyes from any game between the 2 teams The disgraceful comments made this week about Bolton being out celebrating all week (They went out once, on Monday) Successful manager, yes. Man of class, no f***ing way.

I find, like yourselves i'm sure that the only way to survive the silly season, (which seems to start earlier each year btw) is by believing nothing till the deal is announced on the official site.
