Even though it was only the season before last he was in form, I can't honestly remember if Bent was actually any good to be honest. I remember he was pacy and worked pretty hard, scored a few goals from breakaways and also a few pens but is he actually worth £12M - which is what a swap with Crouch would effectively be valuing him at? He would certainly add a bit of pace to our forward line options, which other than Torres, we currently lack.

But clubs approach other player's agents, and quite often agents of players they are not especially interested in, because they know the agent will make it public to try and drum more business for his player and increase the fee. It helps both parties and happens all the time.

Well you have entirely missed the point there mate - 9 times out of 10 it wasn't a bad pass, Cisse just miscontrolled it - it happened time and again and he always stood there and never seemed to try and make up for his error. No point in having blistering pace if you don't have the skills to control the ball.

What about the fact that Cisse can't cross the ball for toffee and in fact generally can't trap the ball for toffee either. I suppose the latter could possibly be levelled at Kuyt to an extent now and again, but at least he's got the heart to run after it whereas Cisse would just stand with his hands on his hips and look annoyed as if it was a bad pass.

Chelsea will always be linked with our best players every summer - I think we just have to get used to it and broadly speaking it means nothing apart from confirmation that we have some of the best players int he world in our team....and Chelsea are a s**thouse of a club. Rafa's comments were almost certainly a cheeky veiled threat that Torres would go if he did but Chelsea were just trying a fast one based on nothing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the FA did have something to say about this actually - they have a track record of doing the wrong thing and pursuing pointless issues while leaving more pressing ones either overlooked completely or grossly undervalued.
