  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/7806466.stm Hull boss admits Pennant interest Hull City have joined the chase to sign Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant. The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, while Wigan, Tottenham and Stoke are also believed to be interested. Hull manager Phil Brown said: "I would be very interested in Jermaine Pennant if he was available at the right price. We will be making enquiries." With the Tigers suffering a dip in form in recent weeks, Brown is looking to strengthen his squad during January. Hull have also been linked with Wigan midfielder Michael Brown but the Tigers' boss has denied making an approach. He said: "We have got a number of irons in the fire, but just because the transfer window opens, doesn't mean to say everyone jumps into business straight away. "A lot of these windows start with the big boys, and once they start to do their dealings everyone else follows suit. We have got certain targets earmarked."
  2. Lol, I'd hope so. Wouldn't want any other deal.
  3. Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is set to cut his losses on £7m full-back Andrea Dossena and AC Milan hope to take him back to his native Italy. (Daily Mirror) Heskey is likely to rejoin his former club Liverpool for £4m. (The Independent) All yours now GWistooshort.
  4. Even though it was inappropriate, I would have thought Hicks public slating of him earlier in the year would have given him a kick up the ar*e. Stupid d1ckhead.
  5. Well we don't know the ins and outs yet obviously. I just hope this means its less serious than initially being reported. More of a scuffle than anything else.
  6. Glass throwing isn't quite glassing is it?
  7. Thats a relief actually. Not quite beating the sh*t out of someone is it.
  8. I think Dossena will improve a fair bit, but think Insua is just a better option long term and should keep him in the side. Especially if we can get something like 5-7m for Dossena. If we sell Pennant too for about 3m then thats around 10m towards a more important position. We obviously don't have a lot of cash so if we're going to have to raise funds I'd say those two are the most realistic.
  9. Keep him in, and sell Dossena for something similar to what we got him for and put it towards a creative player. Arbeloa and Agger can play at left back if necessary.
  10. Not so much in this game as I can see how he's thinking with City's attacking, but against Stoke etc its ridiculous. Reminds me of Gerard and his persistence with Heskey no matter what.
  11. You can see from Babel's interviews that he has self confidence so think Heskey comparison is way off. He might be up and down at the moment in his form but thats just inexperience and still being raw. Not got anything to do with his mentality I don't think.
  12. Rafa not being able to bring in his first choice and having to settle again. And yet it will be him getting slagged off big time if we aren't able to mount a title challenge. It is the same as not being able to bring in Simao or Alves and getting Pennant. Takes the p*ss.
  13. Saw this on RAWK: "Espanyol president Daniel Sanchez Llibre suggests that Riera will leave the club in the next few hours" ... http://www.as.com/futbol/articulo/sanchez-...asdasftb_15/Tes
  14. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/foot...rticle16828.ece Bascombe: DOWNING IN LIVERPOOL PLEA Middlesbrough winger wants £14million move By CHRIS BASCOMBE, 23/08/2008 STEWART DOWNING will plead with Middlesbrough to listen to any £14million bid from Liverpool. The winger, a sub in England’s midweek draw with the Czechs, believes his ambitions will be aided by a move to a Champions League club. Rafa Benitez has been considering an offer all summer, but with his focus on the Gareth Barry saga, Downing’s hopes of a transfer appeared increasingly unlikely. The Anfield boss has also been in talks with Espanyol for Albert Riera, having given up on Valencia’s David Silva. Now Rafa is ready to make a last-ditch attempt to solve his left-sided problems — with both Riera and Downing on his agenda. Riera is valued at £10m by Reds but Everton have bid £12m for the ex-Manchester City midfielder. That may force Benitez to move for Downing, who may cost £16m. £14m or £16m? Lol.
  15. I agree. You c***!
  16. Nah.
  17. Have you ever considered anger management mate?
  18. There were rumours last week that Barry had told some reporters that we had until 3pm today to sign him otherwise he was staying at Villa. Apparently. Probably b*llocks.
  19. Out of interest, have you EVER got anything right?
  20. Rahul
