Why pay £20m ish on Keane and then play him where he isn't going to be at his most effective. And seemingly he hasn't done that well when played wider for Spurs.

So what do you think then because I don't think Keane will play on the right and I can't see Rafa wanting to move Stevie from behind the striker(s).

    Gerrard

He played pretty much the left sided equivalent last season behind Torres.
  4. F*cking hell how amateur is the five coverage. Went back for about thirty seconds and then it ended without any interviews which they said they'd have before the break. Toss*rs.
  5. Disappointing thing is that if we sold him we'd probably get less than what we paid for him.
  6. Who? Babel, Pennant or me?
  7. He's coming back from an injury and took a knock early on today which seemed to bother him during the first half. Think thats being a bit harsh. And Pennant (though I think we should sell him and bring someone far better in) hasn't been bad in the second half.
  8. What do you expect he's been off the pitch for the whole second half?!
  9. Insua- must have meant on loan. No way would we want to sell him.
  10. Page 1 mate.
  11. Dossena going beyond the strikers and getting caught offside in the box.
  12. They just scored a goal which was wrongly given offside. Very lucky there.
  13. Looks like Babel took a knock early on and is still suffering from it.
  14. Good finish that coming straight back at him from the keeper.

No way is Keane coming in to play on the right of midfield.
  16. No Degen then?
  17. Guillem Balague: http://www.guillembalague.com/rumores_desp.php?id=34 There have been some interesting comments from Rafa Benitez regarding David Villa. With Peter Crouch on the brink of leaving the club, the Liverpool manager has been reported as saying “we will try to bring in another option. Villa is a player we know all about and he is on our list. But maybe it will be difficult." This has triggered a lot of speculation that that the Valencia striker is on his way to Anfield. However, my view on David Villa has not changed and I still fell that he will most likely remain in Spain this summer; although a great deal still depends upon the new owners at Valencia and what decisions they will take regarding the sale of their biggest assets. As things stand at the moment, there has been no contact with David Villa’s agent regarding a possible transfer. I said before that I do not think that Liverpool will sign David Villa, and I haven’t changed my mind. Of course, Rafa is an admirer of the player and, let’s face it, who wouldn’t love to sign him. However, I think that Villa is well out of Liverpool’s price range and all of this talk about the Spanish striker is distracting people from a far more likely signing: Robbie Keane Keane has informed Juande Ramos of his desire to play for Liverpool and if the funds are available, then the Spurs forward could very well be the ‘nice surprise for Liverpool fans’ I recently spoke of: certainly a far more realistic option than David Villa who, at the moment, is diverting attention away from the club's genuine targets.

  19. Someone on RAWK is saying reports in Holland are suggesting we've made a 20 million euros bid for Ajax's Luis Suarez. Probably just a rumour but thought I'd post it.
  20. No. Most from January to May then went on a bad run from August. Lost in duels to Riise too.

  22. It could be argued that Torres plays best when he's upfront on his own (as he showed with Spain aswell) so it could be said bringing in someone like Keane and playing him upfront at all would negate the impact Fernando would have, so maybe he would be in the three. I just don't see him as a player to get past the opposition defenders like the wide player we were imagining and hoping we'd bring in.
  23. Totally agree but I doubt he'd be put in the wide right position as he's not really one to get past people etc. He will be in and around the box and Torres so if we're playing with 2 upfront, it would be a change in formation. Maybe 4132 with Masch sitting and Barry, Stevie and Babel behind the front two?
  24. I honestly don't think Keane would come in and be played on the right side of the three as he has to be higher up and closer to Fernando, so assuming he comes in to play alongside Torres, what system do people think we'd use? Back to 442? 4132?

    Gareth Barry

Gedo (who got Dossena spot on) says this on RAWK: Although a Fee has not been agreed,Liverpool met with Barry's Agent yesterday.
