As I said, not going to happen... Zero faith in Ayre. None at all

Not going to happen is it. Can't remember when we were last in this position and actually got it done. So I'm resigned to it. Every single team in the top 7 has strengthened, Tottenham and arsenal aside, and arsenal will sign someone today. Does anyone actually have any faith in Ayre pulling this off?

This is like a mirror image of the summer. I posted then too, that I think the club is deliberately leading the stories, either because of total naivety, our because they want the media/public to think we are 'players' in the market, even if we don't get a player. Either they have no intention of buying said player, or we are only interest in buying at an unrealistic lowball price. Happening all over again now. Then the reality is we will go for 'insert average player name here' on loan and we'll be fed the 'we tried really hard' line.....while BR is privately fuming but had to follow the public line....

Cissokho quite possibly the worst left back we have ever had. However, I started feeling really sorry for him at the end. Maybe cos we were winning but I went past the stage of shouting at him thorough the tv and just felt pity. Couldnt even make straight forward passes and even thought he is clearly limited he is also low on confidence which just makes things 10 times as bad. Where for art thou Enrique??? Obviously, one hell of a result. Massive boost for 4th and keeps the top 3 in sight.... Just a couple of signings new please!

As much as I'd love to believe we could snatch Salah back, we all know that it's dead and now Chelsea have swooped it's pretty much a done deal... Hopefully we've got a couple lined up but quite frankly I've lost faith in our transfer policy. Our insistence on a bargain (while at the same time paying £7m willy nilly on squad fillers who don't even improve the squad) is going to cripple us. Watching utd pay £37m for a world class player while in the position they are in is heart breaking almost as you just know they'll take that 4th place and add I've said before I think it could set us back even further off err don't get it this year (Suarez leaving etc)....

We said the same thing in the summer, but we are feeling the fallout of the Carroll business more then we could have imagined. Theyve give full circle now and anyone with over 10million we are trying to low ball ridiculously. The worse thing for me in all this, is that not only have they not learned from the summers shambles, which all be it was with players in the 20m plus bracket, but we are now doing it with players 1/3 of the price of Mata. that's right, we are not talking about pulling out of a bidding war for a 37m pound player (to think we even dreamed we might be in for him) but spending weeks bargaining for a player worth 1/3 of that foolishly thinking we'd be the only ones in then go running scared as soon as someone offers a half decent amount. Ayre is no doubt a fool, but make no mistake he is fsg's puppet, yes man. That's why he's still there doing the negotiating..... Basically, I think finishing outside the to for this season will set us back years. Suarez will be gone. Gerrard will be on his last legs, and will be relying on a couple of decent players while the rest of the top 6 go from strength to strength as they ALL have a transfer strategy better then ours, even utd, Everton and spurs, which is saying a lot

Ilori, aspas, Alberto. Circa 22 million. How many minutes of footy have that 22 million played in 6 months? We are not talking a couple of million here. 22 f***ing million. Why do we keep doing it, no matter the owner, no matter the manager. I can understand if they played even a small part in our season and they beefed up a thin squad. But when you are nut trusted to even play, not at all, then it is wasted money, wasted. Could have bought a top centre mid our attacking wide player with that.

Pretty much spot on. I think if he'd tried the positional change with any other player he changes it after 10 minutes, but as it's Gerrard he leaves it. It's bad enough have one defender, or a goalie in bad form. But we have Johnson, Skrtel, toure (who has been horrific) and cissokho plus mignolet who is also worrying me greatly.

Haul coutinho of asap. I don't care if Gerrard stays on our goes off, but get him the f*** out of that defensive mud role, it s horrific. It's like watching someone from the public who's won a comp being picked for a PL game chasing around like a headless chicken with no idea what they are supposed to do

Never thought I'd be so desperate to see Enrique in a red shirt. Get him fit asap. Sakho back in asap. Johnson poor but him and Skrtel will do a job for now. Could do with Allen back to give another option in the middle for when Lucas and/or Gerrard tire during games. Now Sturridge is back we have a nice front 4 vying for 3 positions. Another pacy attacker/wide man would be great.

As threatening as sterling has been his final ball has been shocking. He's doing stupid chips into areas nowhere near Suarez and co. I don't think he had found his man once when getting himself into good positions.
