Not an easy fit in their old system too, as it often had three in central midfield if I remember rightly, which meant just Hazard playing off a striker

Getting signed and getting a new deal at Liverpool under two different managers is more than just fluke where both were ok to settle on one of the supposed worst keepers in the league.

I know he might get paid a whack more, but in what universe does a keeper who has played 250 pl games and 20 internationals go for less than Danny Ward who’s barely played a top level game at 25? Can only be circumstance with lack of vacancies around, so I suppose a loan makes more sense.

It’s 4, a hope and a prospect right now, of course it would be better to have 5, a hope and a prospect or 5 and a prospect. Dunno if the club have a Fekir alternative or not, but it’s not exactly terminal as things stand

They can’t afford the 180m ask apparently, they’d rather get a couple or three in for that money and save their all out bid for Neymar next summer

Yep There’s hardly a glut of decent strikers around. There are some clever and experienced pros outside the top six, but a lot of pretty average guys who are pretty much there as an out ball.

My memory has gone Hass, you’re going to have to explain it to me more simply

No idea who this is, but a fun Fekir thread https://twitter.com/trevski_lfc/status/1021296140124401665?s=21

With message briefed that we were not at all interested anymore as late as 10 days ago. The club are getting into a misinformation habit, so it’s hard to make a call

Palmed a not that powerful shot right into the centre of the six yard box, almost seemed like he was expecting it to be harder.

It’s only pre season but there’s a distinct lack of quality from the third choice players up top. The younger players in midfield are showing more, and they’re not pulling up major trees.

Oh dear

Been pretty average 2nd half, poor in midfield and launching it to nobody in particular

Whoops

38 Ran out of time, doing it on the phone is fidly Wouldn’t have got Dossena, Illori or Aspas whilst Can & Origi would have had me scratching

Yeh, I’m imagining it’s his money head on, there’s no queue of clubs in for him and he’s only going down in value from here, so perhaps his main thought is to get this done now? Sure someone else might have a go, but £50m is a significant transfer for anyone & at this stage would require most of the focus of a club at the expense of their other options in that position. That’s before you get into the player’s desire to come to Liverpool & concerns about his fitness.

Also interesting he put it on the player, claiming it’s not about the size of the bid or ask. He’s talking like he wants him gone already

He’s good. Went off a cliff after Christmas. Not his fault according to Tim Vickery, as he’d played 30 plus games from Feb to July in Brazil before signing for Watford and going straight into PL season.

Yeh. More opinion than info though.
