If Elliot does end up at Brighton I’d try get some sort of deal tied in with minteh for 26/27 season. Slot had him at feynoord and for a 20 year old in his first season in the prem last season he had a decent year. If he can build on that might be one to come in before salah leaves.

Nusa seems very talented but recovering from a major injury last season so see if that affects him. Think we were linked to Schade before he made his move to Brentford.

Listening to something from TAW they say robbo is on £160k a week. From a purely business sense paying your back up left back £8m a year doesn’t make the most sense when that could be reapportioned across the squad.

Given the amount of rebuilding we seem to be doing, I’d keep Diaz for another season. He’s on low wages (55k), versatile and just coming off the back of his best season for us. In a year we could probably still get a decent-ish fee for him even with only a year left on his contract and then look to upgrade next summer. If a silly bid from Saudi comes in this summer though then that could change things.

Given there are few proper centre forwards out there it may be the way we go, at least until one becomes available further down the line. Wonder if we will see links to someone like rodrygo again who is pretty versatile and maybe why Alvarez could still be an option.

If Frankfurt are quoting €100m (and we’re willing to go that high) then I’d prefer to spend that kind of money on Alvarez.

It does feel like that: Gk: Kelleher likely to go Def: Question marks over Konate, quansah, Gomes, robbo, tsimikas Mid: Morton, endo, Elliot, bajcetic all could go for one reason or another Att: Diaz, jota, Nunez, chiesa and now even Gakpo linked with moves away.

I think if we’re looking for versatility in our players Alvarez also ticks all the boxes. Plenty of option for rotation across the front line from a number of players. And also we seem to be signing players mates… Frimpong and gravenberch, kerkez and dom, wirtz and frimpong so why not get mac allister in the mix and sign his best mate Alvarez!
