I think Rafa's comment about how Xabi is a marked player now in the premiership is relevant into Rafa's thought process. Clubs now target Xabi as they feel if they stop or curtail him they seriously diminish our attacking fluidity. So if we got £20M plus for Xabi, a player now playing at the peak of his powers, replaced by Barry and Silva is that such a bad thing? Xabi has had a great season but what motivated him to up his performance from prior seasons , the fact that he was nearly sold to Juve by Rafa? There is no guarantee he might play as well again next season.
