  1. See article quoted below, Hicks views it as a business venture, pure and simple, our only hope is too boycott all Liverpool products, absolutely dry up their revenue stream, and force them out.... http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/pr...icle3359034.ece The interview also provides a sense of how Hicks – whose Dallas Stars, purchased for $84m (43m), are now worth an estimated $254m – sees his sports franchises as business commodities. When he bought the Stars, he said, they were "a lousy franchise, playing in a crumbling arena... so I figured I could change all that; put them in a new arena, make them worth a lot more money and sell it and make money, because I'm a businessman. What I didn't count on was that I fell in love with hockey."
  2. What is this about DIC meeting RBS about Liverpool and G& H loans ? Any details?
  3. Best way ould be to target certain games with different protest tactic's eg one game say on sky boycott game by all supporters.... another game non stop chanting of say yanks out .... plus worldwide boycott of merchandise... basically constant pressure on revenue stream into club
  4. Being told that Giles has being offerred the Irish job and he has accepted , believe press conference tomorrow announcing same. His odds have fallen from 14-1 down to 7/1 or 13/2 today.Source seems reliable, worth a wager...
  5. The Times article looks very similar to other articles / stories put in the last 4 weeks about the stadium, while the Observer / Guardian focus on the fact they have no liquidity and the subprime market crash has dried up all available cash out there. If Citibank and UBS have to go begging for cash to the Arabs and the chinese due to teh new market conditions in the greater scheme of things these 2 boys will either have to sell up or find £40M or about $55m. They must be tempted to make the profit and run with DIC's rescue offer.
  6. The RBS loan is due for repayment next month. The Observer understands that attempts to restructure it have so far failed and the Americans have yet to inject new equity into the refinancing. While RBS have asked Hicks and Gillett to each commit £20m of their own cash to the deal, City sources believe that at least one of the pair is not prepared to do so. Hicks and Gillett declined to comment last night. The important bit..... they want out
  7. Rafa makes a sub at half-time !!!! Rafa knows the pressure is on...needs to win
  8. ASton Villa will be above us in the table as well....
  9. As results currently stand Everton go 4th, we fall to 7th... you know the media will contrast Moyes to Benitez the week ahead
  10. If the players suspect / believe that he, Rafa, will be gone by the summer , how does Benitez motivate them ?
  11. Gerard Houllier is the man most likely to replace Steve Staunton as Ireland manager. The Irish Independent understands that Houllier is now clear favourite to be nominated for the job by kingmakers Don Givens, Don Howe and Ray Houghton. Insiders say that the former Liverpool and France chief is in prime position to benefit from uncertainty surrounding Terry Venables and concerns about either the credentials or recent managerial experience of other prominent candidates. While Houllier has been publicly coy about his interest, given that he is currently employed by the French Football Federation (FFF) as a technical director, the indications are that he would be interested by the challenge if offered it. Last month, the 60-year-old turned down the opportunity to manage the Korean national side and his commitment to the FFF was cited as a key reason. However, family reasons were also a significant factor in the decision as the Koreans wanted their new man based there for the majority of the year. Mick McCarthy would now appear to be Houllier's biggest rival as the FAI's top brass grow increasing frustrated with Terry Venables. The Wolves manager is gathering support among the association's senior figures, who fear Venables is about to accept a £1m per annum tax-free offer to take charge of Bulgaria, who ironically will be among Ireland's rivals in the forthcoming Group Eight World cup qualifying campaigns FAI officials are growing tired with Venables's brinkmanship and, after canvassing widely in their search for a new manager, believe McCarthy would be welcomed back by the players. Houllier, however, has emerged as the favourite
  12. going to be a right dogfight with City and the bitters for 4th.
  13. Pennant ---- watching him in a liverpool shirt is bloody penance
  14. What has Liverpool FC done in the last 100 years to get Gillet & Hicks muppets to run this club!! They will destroy its soul and everything we ever stood for. Just when we have a great manager and a squad fully behind a manager and what he stands for , Moore goes and takes Parry's advise and sells up to these 2. Its fecking heartbreaking it really is. ... and these drip drip attacking Rafa from Hicks and Parry today was disgraceful, can't belive Parry used the NOTW to do it. Its fecking sad but Rafa will be gone along with Mascherano plus probally Kewell this summer and we will have Klinsmann in ... just heartbreaking ....
  15. McGeady of Celtic plus Bentley from Blackburn with possibly Hutton from Rangers in during the summer of 2008 to strenghten the squad. Bentley instead of Pennant , Hutton and Finnan for right back and McGeady on the left, allowing Babel to play up front.

    Hicks

"I think our team played like they mentally didn't think they were good enough to win, played tight,'' Hicks said a few days later from his Dallas office, sounding more analytical than critical. Muppet....
  17. I just wish Moore would come out and say how he feels he's been conned by the Americans, and let down / fooled by Parry but unless he comes out and says something then people will be entitled to question his part in all this. All he has to do say is do an interview with Bascombe or maybe with the BBC say Hansen but he should be using last bit of moral authority he has , or all espect for him is gone. Come on Moore, come out and tell the truth about the Yanks / parry and call for DIC to move in. Do it for the club !!!
  18. Here's hoping !! Its clearer by day that G&H have over-reached themselves here, also don't forget they did their diligence in 3 / 4 days , while DIC were about 3 to 4 weeks. Plus Gillet filed for chapter 11 15 years ago, their history and way of doing business should have rang alarm bells for Moore, he should have said thanks but no thanks to them but his ear was probally bent by Parry at the time.
  19. The Yanks are not but bloody Carpet Baggers, gangsters of the highest order, who we need to get rid off.
  20. Football world being small I am sure Rafa has heard these rumours and probally in greater detail than others, that being said he probally knows that what will save him is either winning the premiership or the Champions League again. Since Rafa is a person that strongly believes in himself and his abilities I would imagine that he has decided that in our current situation in the league and the Champions League that he has a good chance of achieving one of these, thus saving his neck.

    Benayoun

He just reminds me of Smicer.... good technique but just too light weight
  22. Listen, Sissoko nearly lost his vision with that injury , bound to have affected him, he is not the same player since. Pity.
  23. the above makes sense, the strangest thing even taking into account our goals against stat , our defence is the weakest area of the team by the fact we do do not have cover. Specialist full backs are great like finnan but for the 60 / 70 game season are not what you need, 2 specialist full backs is enough to cover preferably either side. You need players you can cover full back and centre defence if needed look at MUFC , silvestre, brown, o'shea, neville. We don't have that flexibility, we have riise, aurelio, arbeloa, finnan plus others like insua (?) from the reserves. Of those 4 we only need 2 , and 2 to be replaced by players who can play full back plus centre , probally the reason we are linked to taylor, garay, kompany, plus our chase of Heinze. Also the failure to secure Vidic signing is really the difference between us and MUFc at the moment, that close but could be 9 pts in season.
  24. and btw it should be pandev from lazio
  25. Veronin has more pace than Kuyt !!!! Jaysus wept ... are you ripping the p1ss ???
