I don't know this but perhps others can confirm. Are the Glazer loans for MUFC in Dollars or Euros? If so with the fall in the exchange rate of the dollar to other currencies their loans just got more expensive to maintain. The dollar was a five month low during the week and sterling was at a 6 month high against it. Currency movements like that could have hurt them with their repayments.

I think Rafa's comment about how Xabi is a marked player now in the premiership is relevant into Rafa's thought process. Clubs now target Xabi as they feel if they stop or curtail him they seriously diminish our attacking fluidity. So if we got £20M plus for Xabi, a player now playing at the peak of his powers, replaced by Barry and Silva is that such a bad thing? Xabi has had a great season but what motivated him to up his performance from prior seasons , the fact that he was nearly sold to Juve by Rafa? There is no guarantee he might play as well again next season.

Agree, as second or third choice striker plus option on wing he is an option for the squad. I would keep him but it really comes down to his attitude and will he work harder to improve his game. But for next season can see him playing more games up front if he stays.
