Two very good players but they're still not a Xabi replacement though. Having Masch and Lucas that deep in midfield without impetus there seems suicide, which was the case most that season. Aquilani generally plays further forward, I give you that, but he didn't play most the time, and wasn't really a like for like in terms of the type of role Xabi plays

Oh, Aquilani was an unbelievably s*** signing if you consider we should've been signing for a Xabi replacements, and he was injured for Lord knows how long before the season, and the wages he was on. But it was even s***ter to not give him a chance when he has shown to be a very good player, but apparently he isn't a better footballer than Henderson or Adam. Jovetic is not the flavour of the month, he's been performing at a very high level for a while barring injury He's young, he's at a club going nowhere, that is exactly how we got Xabi and we should be trying to same on these sorta players before their value skyrockets

If Valero is solely hired and enjoys his job at Liverpool, why would he go to wherever Rafa will be in the future unless he is offered a heck load more money? I still don't see how takling to Valero and Macia means Rafa coming back, it's a real long bow to draw
