Ricardo Carvalho went off after 30mins anyone know if it was an injury?? -
Reading the papers his weekend, there are yet more stories linking Bellamy with an exit from the club. Normally I wouldn't pay to much attention to these stories, however even bascombe has joined in. In the pink bascombe says "Benitez will be looking for another speed king to replace Bellamy, who looks destined for villa at a significant profit". I havent got a direct link for this as the stories from the echo on a Saturday never appear online. I think that if we do sign a big money striker, like villa, eto'o, or n e other. Then I cant see Bellamy getting many games next season. However whoever we do sign will need to have pace, which is vital for tricky away games. So what are your thoughts should we keep him, or get rid

Upson goes off injured again after 11mins -
FWIW.... Just been reading the echo this morning and in the pink part, bascombe says that we have signed Mascherano on a permanent deal. He says we initially paid £1.5mill, but this will rise if we keep him after the initial 18month period. Sounds like a really good deal to me, I cant see a link on the net yet though

What and play 352? I don't think pennant or macca in his day would give enough protection in that formation. With someone like mcmanaman you need a right back behind him so you could only play 442 or 451, and 451 wouldn't be attacking enough at home imho

So who's place would he take? Gerrard's, Alonso's, momo's?

Had to dig this thread up when I read this: Keep off Parker, warns Toon boss Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder has warned Premiership clubs not to try to lure skipper Scott Parker from St James' Park. he 26-year-old England international, who scored the Magpies third goal in the 3-1 win over Tottenham on Saturday, is the subject of speculation that he could be involved in a swap for West Ham's Nigel Reo-Coker. However, Roeder has insisted the £6.5million signing is going nowhere. He said: "This talk looks as though it is coming out of East London and it is an attempt to unsettle Scott. "This makes me angry, but when I read that stuff on Sunday morning, I took it as being nothing more than a joke. "I did not make Scott Parker my captain to succeed Alan Shearer as the leader of this club to sell him. "I can see Scott Parker being captain of Newcastle for many years to come." Roeder and chairman Freddy Shepherd have drawn up their wish-list for the January transfer window, and while they have admitted their interest in Southampton full-back Gareth Bale and Derby midfielder Giles Barnes, they have been more guarded about their interest in Liverpool striker Peter Crouch. However, Roeder has dismissed claims that Lyon's Norwegian international striker John Carew is a target. He said: "One of my best friends in football management is Gerard Houllier at Lyon and if I was interested in signing John Carew, he would have been the first one I would have talked to. "Well, I have not talked to Gerard because I am not interested in Carew." Roeder has been scouring Europe for reinforcements and is looking to bring in three or four new faces with defenders and a striker his priorities. Link Now thats what I call double standards

interesting comments from rafa: Benitez facing Sinama decision Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez will have a dilemma on his hands next summer - thanks to the fine form of Reds loanee Florent Sinama-Pongolle. The French striker has been in tremendous form since being sent on a season loan to unfancied Recreativo de Huelvo. And Sinama-Pongolle proved himself more than capable of performing at the highest level with a magnificent display in the club's historic 3-0 win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Wednesday. He outwitted Ballon D'or winner Fabio Cannavaro to score his sixth in nine starts in an historic 3-0 away win for the Spanish minnows, who currently lie a surprising seventh in La Liga. Recreativo have an option to buy the striker if they can meet Liverpool's asking price, but Sinama's exploits are sure to be alerting others to his quality. "We have scouts watching all our loan players and we know Sinama is playing very well in Spain," Benitez told the Liverpool Echo. "We are analysing every game our loan players are involved in and know exactly what each is doing. "Djibril Cisse is also back playing again, and we are monitoring all of them closely because we realise they are still our players. "It's far too early to say what's going to happen in the future. "We have a loan deal which keeps Sinama at Recreativo for the season. After this, they will either use an option to sign the player or he will come back. "It's not clear at this moment whether they would have enough money to be able to buy the player." click
