I'm more suggesting the fact that, at this moment in time, he hasn't had a real opportunity to show off his best attributes due to the fact we're playing poor football with or without him in the side. Thus it is harsh to label him a write-off and we should be giving him a chance.

A couple times you could see the player that he might well be if he puts in 100% each time. He needs to cross more though...he needs to stop beating his man and charging into the next player(s). Whether or not that can be drummed into him/realised remains to be seen.

I didn't say anyone was blaming him for the performance as a whole, more the fact that they are singling him out for criticism in his own performances. As I said he obviously didn't play well and hasn't so far, but his key strength is supposedly playing incisive, attacking passes and with the sort of football the team's been playing recently, how can we write him off when he hasn't had a chance to show off these passes? If the team does start playing football at a similar level to what we did last season and he's still failing then fair enough he's not good enough at what he does. Until then though he has to be given a chance.

The whole team was s***, no movement nor urgency. Who was he meant to play these incisive passes to? N'gog with 5 men around him or N.A player who wouldn't bother to make the effort to get in space when we're in possesion? Granted he did not play well but to single him out for tonights performance when pretty much everyone else was utter dross is harsh.

He wasn't much good, but at the same time no-one was.

Perhaps a large chunk of his fee is based on appearance triggers and Rafa has been told not to play him unless absolutely necessary
