I don't know where you heard/read me saying that we didnt deserve to win but like any journalist would do (no that you're one, I don't know) to get his point/story across he would make up a story to sell papers. anyways, I think that Sissoko is being massively over hyped by some people on here and to say that he was absolutely brilliant tonight is a bit silly.

Carra, Agger, Finnan, Alonso and Stevie were all superb tonight. Arbeloa did well too as did Riise.

Depends on what Alves would cost us. I'm just saying if Alves would have cost us Kuyt and Pennant/Gonzalez this summer I would have taken it, he's that good, and sometimes you just cant afford to miss out on a talent like that even if its going to cost you two moderately good players. I don't have a clue if we were in a pole position to sign last summer or not, just my opinion.

Pennant is, and so is Gonzalez, but I'd take Alves over Kuyt any day of the week!

Not really, the amount of time he gets on the ball in spain doesn't compare to the prem. And he was turning 30 at the time so it wasn't likely he would ever adjust his game. 'tis also why I don't understand why some people are desperate for Klose, Iaquinta, or Luca Tony...its the same situation

Kewell made all the difference last season in the prem, defenders were scared of him and he could put quality balls in the box and linked superbly with Riise. He's the reason why Gerrard could drift so many times inside from the right, Alonso could always spray the ball out left to Kewell so the defense was stretched anyways. Although perhaps decent squad players, Gonzalez and Pennant will never reach the standard we're looking for in a winger, for me they don't do enough and I wouldn't be surprised if either one gave place for Adam Hammill on the bench next season if we brought in a quality winger.
