    Oh yeah the Milan thing probably had an effect. But he was shameful against Southampton and Palace in the League Cup. Can’t be banging on the managers door demanding to play when that’s what you’re serving up.

    They're also apparently interested in buying the parent company that includes TNT. So this might also be a decision based along those lines: fork out a ton of money for the CL in the hope/expectation that a bump in subscribers helps pay for it, and also lowers the value of the TNT company so you can absorb them too.
