Nah. It broke down cos it broke down. Nowt to do with LFC. But I suppose it's not inconceivable to think once the Chelsea move broke down we got on to his people and said 'we really would like to buy him in January or next summer'.
-
Aye and their relationship with Chelsea might be a bit f***ed now. Was interesting LFC seemed to brief about him almost as soon as the chelsea move broke down.
-
Do we think the noises about that Camara lad after the window closed means he might be on the way? Or just the usual 'look what we're going to do next time' guff?
-
yeah he's the business isn't he. Grav, on the other hand, comes on and plays like someone who's been told the manager doesn't fancy him.
-
I think we're still a bit too open in midfield at times - though not as bad as last season - but it looks like a different defence so far. Especially once Araujo came in at right back. Jacquet looks unreal and vvd and Alisson are looking very good again.
-
It doesn't excuse his own performances and how meek he seems in general, but I really would love to see him with a really good midfield behind him. Not one with Szoboszlai or Gravenberch poncing about. Was stark that video wasn't it. Must have been an awful experience for literally everyone.

Yeah the continuity aspect is a joke really innit. Like how is the club meant to be cohesive when they keep being changed . I don't even know what their wider remit is tbh. Contracts and stuff I guess? the main thing should be continuity. A constant that allows the club to prosper even when other stuff is in flux. Hughes really was a f***ing disaster.

Sorry no, not aimed at Swagger, but seen lots of stuff about it being the cheap option on twitter. Which isn't always more representative but still. It's a thing for some people it seems. I just don't think they're that important really. I don't think any of them are geniuses. He got deals done last time didn't he. And I think the continuity thing is an issue. He knows how the club works and with all the other change that's happened and is surely to come I think it's reasonable to stick with someone they know in this instance. There's always some DoF in Europe that everything thinks is the hottest s*** from a distance, that he's got some golden touch. Then he goes somewhere else and it doesn't work and that's that. We've been s***e at transfers in general for a while now. Dunno if it's the scouts or what. Happy to think the Hughes reign was all on Hughes. haha that's it. The real talent is below him innit. He's jut meant to get it all over the line. Negotiating is a skill of course but they're not football geniuses. Gordon had to step in over Barcola like.

There's literally a post about it being the cheap move on this page. I'd say the club needs a bit of continuity at that level since every other f***er has gone.
-
Thanks for the info Paul. I just thought it was an interesting video. I too think the movement is more static when he comes off, regardless of how poor he's been overall.

The 'they're so cheap, why didn't they go and get a lad from another club' just seems like wanting to moan about something else tbh. These lads should be absolutely anonymous. Go and sort the deals and sit in the stands with a jumper and blazer combo and that's it. Although the churn is pretty mad in that position and there might be another new one next summer if there are new owners.

That Josh lad is good. https://x.com/TheAnfieldWrap/status/2102435908100166022

Few green shoots so far I think. The midfield is still rubbish, and I'd take a punt that Nyoni will finish the season as a starter at this rate, but Alisson, VVD and Jacquet all look excellent, and Arujo looks a really clever deal. Macca, tbf to him, looks better than he did at any point last season and is offsetting how awful Dom and Grav look in there. We look much harder to beat, both interns of personnel and mentality, already which is a decent place to start.

The German team as a whole might get a lift from now being coached by one of the greats. Wirtz might have a good 3 weeks and come back with some confidence repaired, as it looked f***ing ripped to shreds on Sunday. Kinda hilarious this idea is being savaged on here but not surprising.
-
As bad as can be in that first half yesterday. His temperament is the biggest flag I think. He has zero swagger or cockiness. Just seems far too meek. I really do hate Carragher though. Desperate to be proved right on Wirtz. Seems annoyed that he's not getting more stick which is a bit mad. Absolutely deserved having that first half called out yesterday, but I look forward to Carragher doing multiple 20-minute hatchet jobs on Foden and Palmer after their respective falls off the cliff.

Had my first family holiday with the kids. Need a-bloody-nother holiday to get over it now

Right in the mix for the Golden Boot.

We're one injury away from really being f***ed in a worrying amount of areas.
-
Desperate article from Pearce that. Barely a critical eye cast on anything. Every decision from the club seemingly justified and proved right
-
Liars too. They briefed that Munoz wasn’t seen as an immediate starter a few weeks ago.
-
Shameless ] INFO: Sources close to FSG view the groundwork Richard Hughes put into the Bradley Barcola deal over the past 12 months as vital in ensuring he ended up at Anfield and believe the decision to trust him to continue leading the way this summer, despite his impending departure, has been vindicated.
-
Really think it’s one of his main issues. You look at Cherki and he’s just a bit of a cocky, swaggering bell at times but it means he backs himself.
-
There were quotes from the PSG lad which basically intimated that it wasn’t going swimmingly until Hogan took over negotiations from Hughes
-
Hughes’ last few briefs at least.

Hope we draw Al-Hilal in the cup.
