In terms of senior stuff, defo. It should be done by now with maybe the odd 'opportunistic' signing being looked at before tomorrow. This keeper might have been planned for ages, though. Maybe some other club was circling so we wanted to hit it now. Would explain the loan back part of the deal. The story only seemed to come to light cos Mama leaving was suddenly a possibility so they maybe would have brought the kid in immediately. Done loads wrong this summer but don't think this is one of them myself.

People are just moaning about everything now! I can't remember seeing anything about money being tight. They just have a limit on every deal they do. And the 'why are they wasting time on an 18 year old keeper?!!' stuff is just silly. It was first reported yesterday and it's done today.

haha f*** me

@sachatavolieri More on our exclusive story regarding Lucca Brugmans & Liverpool FC. The Belgian goalkeeper is currently undergoing his medical tests as a precaution due to the tight schedule. The transfer is valued at €35M. If Giorgi Mamardashvili signs for Nottingham, the Belgian will remain at Liverpool. Otherwise, KRC Genk are expected to keep Brughmans on loan for another season.

Ah yeah, but I think you can buy a 28 year old now and be confident you've a good chance of at least getting your money back from Saudi in a few years.

Yeah probably wishful thinking. They do have a history of just waiting on a top target though, rather than move on to other options. I suspect the new consortium will be running things soon enough. Probably pick the next DoF.

They're still spending big bucks on average players, and players who are over 30. It's now a home for players at a certain stage of their career and it's surely changing the way European clubs think about losing a fortune on older players. This is bang on. Would love a link to Wharton or Scott to pop out of nowhere today or tomorrow. Do wonder if the club might be confidence of Wharton next summer, mind.

He's not my first choice and I hope we get someone better before tomorrow, but agree that some are going away over the top on him. He's not s***e like.

Maybe the thinking is Sarr for a short term fix and someone younger in the future. I think Saudi Arabia has changed the landscape of players losing their value quickly at a certain age. They'll pay fortunes for anyone.

He’s started uploading pics of nice jackets and now only follows LFC and @Stanley Leisure ITS ON

Wonder if they’d go for Sarr and minteh. Be fine with that

I’d imagine it won’t happen now and we just fancy getting that young lad in at some point and having him as a number 2 instead of mama. but I don’t see your scenario as much worst than having mama step in tbh. He’s awful.

Or this new lad we’re apparently after. Obviously 18 is young but mama is really rubbish. Yeah he had an operation. Back Xmas I think

Video of Barola leaving after his medical. One of the kids waiting for him was arrested for having frimpong on his top shortly after the video was taken too, so a good day all round. https://x.com/lblfc_/status/2094099736189911049?s=46

Yeah suspect they’ve been open to selling him all summer but it’s only happening now. Just don’t think it makes much difference myself. Not like it will be destabilising

Alisson does and will get injured but they clearly think mama is as s*** as the rest of us so can’t be annoyed at them taking money for him.

Genuinely incredible. Just further proof they’re in cruise control until they sell up next summer A million times worse than a club that just hires and fires all the time. Just totally unarsed

Yeah no idea if this lad is good obviously but this fella isn’t replacing alisson and that’s the biggest job next season so I’m all for trying to sort asap.

That’s a big ‘ol bitch.

Rare you see him lose it

Romano Liverpool have made official club to club contact with Genk to sign Lucca Brughmans as new goalkeeper. #LFC assessing whether to sign Brughmans for now if Mamardashvili goes to Nottingham Forest or eventually joining from 2027.

Could that happen? Ffs

wtf like. No c*** at the club thought to just stick the fella on gardening leave and get someone who wasn’t double jobbing in a summer when a new manager arrived. Jesus wept

French journo, followed by Ornstein so presume he’s legit. ‘Richard Hughes is officially leaving Liverpool to become Al-Hilal's new sporting director, but he's already overseeing this summer transfer window for the Saudi club Ironically, he had turned down Al-Hilal's initial offer a while back by proposing conditions that weren't well-received by the management (living in Dubai, not showing up on-site often, etc.) Disappointed, Al-Hilal first shopped around for available sporting directors but eventually resumed negotiations with Hughes Both sides made concessions to reach an agreement, which has already been signed, and the Scotsman has been juggling both clubs a bit this summer (which is drawing smirks in the industry.’

If they improve commercial revenue - which keeps being mentioned in anything about them - will that increase the amount of money we can spend in the market? Is that s*** linked?
