Try and just think about it. He is captain and just lifted European Cup, impatient to get contract signed....The only person who will sort it speaks to 3 or 4 other players first (Biscan etc) then goes on his jollies on a goalkeeping course for 5 days leaving Gerrard sat at home fuming. Then he comes back, is back 3 or 4 days before he switches his phone on, by this point player and agent are desperate for the club to at least show some willing. Get into a meeting and the clown has nothing to offer. The agent writes down what the player would like, gives it to the clown. 2 days later the agent phones to see whats happening and he is still thinking about it. Can you sense the frustration yet!!??

If you really believe that Gerrard and Mascherano have the same attitude towards playing football then you're really mistaken. Gerrard wasn't 'pissed off with the club' - He thought they wanted him gone, they made a f***ing song and dance about everything then when they were in talks, they offered him nothing...Not a s*** contract, but NOTHING!

The first time didn't get as far as him having his ear bent about Chelsea and Mourinho trying to toss him off to get him there. The second time he put a transfer request in, so yes the second time. As you would have known if you had read the thread as I was replying to a post about him wanting to leave when we were European Champions.

Without getting bogged down in this again. Do you recall the circumstances surrounding Gerrards uncertainty? Namely that the club f***ed him about over a new contract.....And I mean took the piss out of him, so in the end he was forced to do something drastic. David Moores absolutely tore shreds off Parry at the time for the way it was handled.

The point being that football wasn't mentioned in his desire to leave, it was all about a) his wife being unhappy and homesick and b) his love of Rafa and his football methods. If he goes to Milan to follow Rafa then thats his prerogative, but to decide to go to Barca which as far as I am aware is neither nowhere near Argentina or managed by Rafa, then thats pretty poor.
