windy city red

what a great game, I enjoyed every minute of it. I think Germany deserve their fair share of praise and is definitely more than just an average team. Ballack will fit right into Chelsea, he barges into Iaquinta and starts holding his FACE in agony. Quick question, is Lahm predominantly right-footed? He seems to cut in a hell lot from the left and I cant say I have been very observant even though I saw 3 of Germany's matches...do they have no better left-backs out there?

i think portugal is missing deco. theres hardly anyone on the team right now who can replace his creative talent. both sides are defending pretty well, not much of a breakthrough yet.

haha! good point, i forgot that one!

you dont need to be an accountant to understand reality. see leeds. its inevitable that we will not always end up with our first choice targets, its a problem for every club excluding chelsea of course.

out of curiosity, is aaron lennon faster than pennant? running with the ball i mean...

it was to make up for his blatant dive...

fwiw, i actually thought cruz played pretty well but would hv preferred if messi played a part. damn, i was 3 points clear at the top in my pool and now its pretty much even...cant believe almost everyone put germany to win..

me thinks the vehemence showed against the italians on this forum is purely due to the potential monetary gains that could have been reaped had the aussies won it...

I cant help but sympathise with the guy. He got married, settled down, got over his injury and after his first full season, he has to move. Guess thats just the reality of it. Dont really understand why Rafa wouldnt want him to stay in the premiership though, are there even such clauses in contracts?

quick qn, is this the same juninho who plays for lyon?

from espn soccernet: "GOAL!US EQUALISE! Dempsey smashes home from close range after he had been found by an excellent low cross from Dempsey"

thanks for making me laugh out loud in the office....

i was watching some games on abc yesterday and realised that they were adopting the "win or go home" nba playoff slogan for the match between ghana and the US. but that doesnt really apply here does it? even if they win and the czechs/italians draw, they still go home right?

i hate work... for the people in the US...are they going to show a replay on espn or abc tonight?

when was this said?!

gilardino? i thought he was doing pretty well at milan. IIRC, supposedly the new christian vieri.

whats the status of his injury? is it really bad?

yes, please let that happen.

is true. i really hate that a#hole. i remember that tackle he had on cisse and hughes asking cisse to get up. it obviously doesnt help to have a manager who advocates that....

Is it me seeing things or does ronaldo love to go to the floor everytime he flicks the ball past a player? Figo has been pretty good, I thought he wouldnt have the legs to outrun that defender.

They are abysmal. I am watching it on abc and the commentators kept talking about the difference in kicking techniques between "beckham - one of the world's greatest midfielder" and stevie g who apparently cant shoot properly coz his technique isnt as good as beckham's.

Ecuador to win...coz I have some money on it

Are you expecting to make a profit out of him? We bought him at a bargain price, so lets not be greedy. Besides, he should stay not go. Gonzales is going to take time to bed in and Zenden/Garcia aint no wingers.
