  1. nor will it be the last, you are in a liverpool forum, its natural that statements like that pop up esp after a painful defeat. After all, you are our closest rivals in terms of premiership trophies so its a kneejerk reaction. 3rd is a distant reality but i believe 4th is the likely outcome. as for "best hope", thats harsh but of course, its coming from a manc fan.
  2. they shld never have lost to the dolphins! but yes, I am feeling a tad better, just a tad.
  3. truth be told, i am actually scared looking at the table these days. told myself to only look at it at the end of Dec...
  4. go bears!
  5. won nothing = fa cup/ champs league, that of course makes a hell lotof sense. mid-table team? forgot our fantastic run towards the end of last season already eh? how convenient
  6. we will disagree on that then. henry was making a meal out of it. fwiw, i thought the ref was good too.
  7. because it was a red card offense or because it should have been a second yellow? coz the first yellow to carra was bullsh!t, it wasnt warranted as he hardly touched henry.
  8. thought it was zenden?
  9. I agree and given the budget, they were good if not very good presents.
  10. well, we will just have to concentrate on scoring s***loads at home then.
  11. retrospective wisdom - i could have swore the forum was generally happy with the signings we made during the transfer window. The overhaul was inevitable, it was the only way for us to move forward in the long run. bellamy has contributed more to our play compared to cisse (except goals) and gonzales has chipped in one or two important goals in our campaign so far. Having said that, the signings havent quite fulfilled their potential and I am certain Rafa knows that too.
  12. thanks leo, that was a pleasant read. i agree rafa is partially at fault at some of the away games but i still stand by my opinion that he didnt have much with today's lineup considering our opposition. hecould have played the best players in their best positions, i dont think the result would have changed one bit.
  13. It almost sounds like a kid wanting the majority of votes to see if he/shes right or wrong. And I am actually glad to seethat 30 out of 40 is not really the previously quoted 98%. And I also thought he answered the question already....
  14. i agree, rafa didnt have much of a frigging choice and apparently that concept is escaping everyone. we had two choices on the left , zenden and speedy. if zenden had played there we would have see eboue fly down the right side alot more. and its crazy to have pennant and speedy playing at the same time esp if gerrard was in the centre against a team like arsenal.
  15. by that very sentence actually - the position part is just not true. plus of course the upper case and multiple exclamation marks....trying taking a deep breath..please.
  16. why is everyone shouting? i dontthink anyone thinks zenden is better than gerrard and really think rafa didnt have much of a choice. nothing in today's performance suggested that gerrard was going to play better in the middle than on the right.
  17. agree with all except the last two. carra first booking was never a frigging booking, he did feck all and henry decided to take a tumble. never expected us to win the title this season and the next.
  18. feck me, where did we get the billion dollar cash injection from? or did i accidentally log onto the chelsea forum?
  19. are you talking about today or just in general? if in general, i can see your point. but it was the same back five today as it was last season, and i really really think rafa didnt have a choice with the CM partnership of zenden and alonso. momo/garcia are injured (supposedly for the latter), bellamy is misfiring so theres really " no one" to choose from right now - as ironic as it is.
  20. the first "foul" carra made was never a foul on henry. not in a million years. the letting off was justified in the end.
  21. do we manage football teams though? calm down. if pennant was to play today with gerrard in the middle instead of zenden, there might have been more gaping holes left in the middle (not like there aint now).
  22. 1) yes. 2) dont think he had a choice 3) it was conservative, but you saw the speed arsenal attacks - playing a little negative at time sometimes helps. It did inthe first half until the frigging goal. 4) Thats the players' fault. 5) bellamy/pennant? there wasnt much he could do by the time agger came in, it was more damage control. like i said earlier, hes not faultless but shouldnt be shouldering majority of the blame.
  23. this frigging argument is getting tiresome. it doesnt matter what position he plays, if he played like what he did today in CM, it wouldnt have made a difference.
  24. i thought crouch and kuyt were doing everything they could, for starters, and alonso too.
