another center-half? how old is this guy though?

so true. this gave a glimpse of what the fans' expectations are this season and the (over) reaction when we play badly.

I will reserve judgement until wed. until then, i will assume their marathon/ironman type training sessions is the cause of the rather poor pre-season form.

man, i was hoping agger would feature in this game, even if its for a little bit. hes still injured?

he posseses a fantastic turn, shoots pretty well on either foot and holds the ball up pretty well. he works quite hard for the team too and I would love if he signed for us. cant really see it happening though...hes getting on abit and would be very expensive.

what? this is getting ludicrous, Dudek chooses to pass the ball to Hobbs and its Traore's fault for not screaming at Dudek for passing him the ball to him? feck me, by your reason, the entire team should be blamed since they didnt insist that Dudek pass it to them. whatever, like I said, I hope Traore moves to another club soon - for his sake. and whats "the wrong side of the pitch"? Hobbs preferred to clear the ball with his right foot, and paid the price. I would rather have Dudek pass him the ball on the "wrong side of the pitch" in the friendly than in an actual match, he probably realizes the grave importance of using the other foot now.

Its funny how everything is Traore's fault. They were clearly Hobb's mistakes and its Traore's fault that he isnt there to prevent HOBB's mistakes from happening. Jimmy needs to find a new club soon...

i suspect capturing the scenic beauty was also a priority

actually i was talking about rossi... guess you missed the word i highlighted...

hes lauded so highly by some ManU supporters I know you would think hes the next pele. think I only saw him play once on tv, is he worth the hype?

i am actually more worried about spurs getting this 17m in their kitty and purchasing an even better midfielder. martin jol has been very good with his signings and i can only see them strengthening further with this load of cash. with berbatov, keane and defoe seemingly playing well during pre-season, i got a feeling they have a good chance of breaking the top 4 next season. hate them like hell though....

challenge - yes. win #19 next year - i think no. we are starting to acquire the right players and will definitely be challenging in all competitions. but to make that league title ours, the team needs to function and play like one single unit and that takes time, esp with new players coming in and trying to learn the style of play. i think we need another year...

true, but hes human and has emotions and an ego too. you can have all the money in the world but a person's pride is usually priceless. rafa doesnt seem like the kind of man to slam someone so hard on his face, so maybe theres more than just diao's playing ability. who knows.

cant help but feel sorry for him. i would never want to be placed in a position like him. i hope he impresses at charlton, it must be painful for him to stay on.

dont know why, but that made me laugh out loud.

apologies, i meant to say i dont think hes worth that much, bent that is...

of all the english strikers we were linked with, in terms of ability, I thought he was the best of them. but with that supposed ludicrous 12m price tag, i dont think hes not worth that much.

find it hard to believe, i played water-polo in high school and that happens all the time during games. the muslim guys never mentioned that before...

I would too, but he desperately needs to stay on his feet and work on his end product. Once that happens, he might be one hell of a scary player. Ironically, it was during the Holland match after he got injured which I thought he played very well. The way he released deco who crossed for the goal was impressive and it showed that he can still play football without those fanciful (and useless) tricks of his.

i am quite amazed he is worth that much.

they are not playing for third place?

His shots on the turn are quite brillant to watch. The shot he made during the Ghana match which rattled off the crossbar and the one he made during the Australian match are two fine examples. For a 6-4 guy, he has pretty good balance.
